I rode a pitful 11 miles this afternoon.Undecided   The temprature was nice but the wind was vicious.  The cross winds just did me in....well that & I think I had one to many recovery drinks last night. Wink

The weather here was pretty nice. I've got a tri in 4 weeks and am feeling unready to ride on the tri bike. So, headed out with a goal of 30 miles. I felt really good, zippy, and quick heading out; when I got to my turn around I realized I had had the benefit on a pretty good tail wind. A good ride overall, much better than my last.

crimefighter2 - 2010-04-02 11:00 PM Getting the hang of this post padding thing.

8 Mile race on tap for tomorrow.  forecast calling for showers/thunderstorms - 60% chance, which winds 15-20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.  No matter what, this will be a PR for me as it the first time I've run any race longer than a 5K.  Really hoping no rain though, I am not a fan of running in the rain, especially for 80 minutes, or whatever it takes me.
Hope Mother Nature gives you a break and you have a great race!!!

Oddly enough, the rain quit, although we had a few sprinkles at the start.  Some light wind, but not so much to affect me. The hills did a good job of that!  I did make my goal of less that 76 minutes though.  Only race I've ever done that had icecream at the end.  That was nice.

Well, in honor of my grandmother who would have turned 104 this week (she died last July) I used her old cake pans and made a cake in the shape of a bunny.  I made a lamb too, and some eggs, but the lamb stuck to the pan (my wife greased that one)  the bunny turned out ok.  I will decorate it tomorrow.  Hope everyone has a great Easter.

Well, I did it!  I am now a triathlete!  My race report is up if you want to read about it.  I did okay.  I finished 2/5 in my division and 36/48 in the women..... all mtn bike division.  I am okay with that for a first time and being in the oldest age division.

I am going to bed now.  Good night!

Happy Easter to all who are celebrating today!

We've got perfect running weather today.  It was 50 degrees with a light breeze when I went out for my run this morning.  I did 4 miles, but had to switch to walk/run for the last 1.5 miles because my knees were starting to complain.  Just another reminder of how out-of-shape I am.  Oh well, gotta start somewhere.

Challenge Standings:

I went to the spreadsheets, in order to give you a first week challenge update. But a lot of people haven't entered their goals yet.

So, no update today. Instead, I'll go work on my taxes. Bleh....

As for the SECONDARY (Post Padding) Challenge, well, I think we already know which team is going to win that one.

If the teams want new names, let me know. (Or, if you want to keep Team A and Team B, that's OK too.)

Happy Easter everyone!  We headed off to church this morning and the Cole was HORRIBLE.   Maybe cause there were more people than usual or maybe cause he ate candy for breakfast.   We are headed out to play some lacrosse in the yard and they off to my parents house for dinner.  Have a great day everyone!

Actually -- I am seriously thinking about NOT declaring goals this month, and just hanging out here and chatting. Yeah, it's gonna be *that* kind of month.

Yeah, I am right there with you.  I think I'll wait until after I get to the doctor to declare goals.  Unless I can put wine drinking down as a goal.  Then I will be all over that!

HollyW - 2010-04-02 8:46 PM Hey Team B....second session finished this evening.  It was a beautiful day out today and the 1st one this week where we didn't have 30 mph wind.  Did a 3.5 mile run after work.

Holly - where are you located in OKC? We live out east off of Harrah/Newalla Road.

beautiful weather for a run; too bad my legs were not as into it as I was. Still, longest run in 9 months and at a decent pace.

Back from my brother's wedding and despite the beautiful weather, I'm a bit too... ahem, "dehydrated" to work out today.  Training plan officially starts tomorrow, and I'll get some numbers up to help the team standings.  Have a great day, Jackie

Hi Staci - I am about 45 minutes away from you.  I live in NW OKC, right by Lake Hefner.  Are you going to be doing any races in the OKC area this season?
