rkreuser - 2010-10-09 2:22 PM Mirinda will run down Julie, short of an explosion.

Today's winner?  K-Swiss. Lieto and Dibens...very nice athlete selection.

ETA: Pavement temp 124.6. Hoping Bryan, Brian, and Alaina navigate that minefield smoothly.

That's Bryan's every day training environment.  He's probably saying bring it on.

Lieto looked sweet coming off the bike. Although Macca looked just as solid. I have seen no word on Matty Reed though...

My bad, did not realize that Boom Boom was not racing in Kona

"Did you know the lead girl has never run a marathon before? Oh Julie Dibens I wish you luck! #IMKONA"

How did she qualify? And tell me that's age group woman and not pro...?

She won Clearwater. They give the 70.3 world champ a spot at kona if they want.

Not that he can't catch Lieto, but the chance of him catching Macca, Lieto, and Raelert are slim.

So the phrase is "stand alone marathon". That makes more sense.

And holy cow, the crowd is catching Lieto.

No, she's never run 26.2 miles in any type of race or training.  She said in an interview that the longest run she's ever done was around 21 miles.

Yep!

She does do some wicked run volume, though, and has been training with Mirinda Carfrae--Queen of the Run.

Clearly she's as prepared as anyone to pull this off ... bitin' the nails!

Macca is certainly catching Lieto.  If he keeps this pace up he'll cruise to an easy victory.  But it's still a long way to the finish line.

He's certainly blowing up the course. If he doesn't blow up, he will win.
