That said, Bill, did anyone update the xls with the new scoring values? I pulled the er, 2006 sheet, and the values have changed slightly. Since I can't do math myself, I'm looking for the EZ solution. BTW, predicting Ryan FTW. He's just silly. |

Extreme Veteran 692 England | Subject: RE: Crappy Winter Weather Challenge 2011-2012 Well, I've added my name to the spreadsheet, but don't expect anything for a while. Still pretty warm here. But I've entered the Brass Monkey HM in January, which regularly takes place in the snow, so I figure I'll be doing some running in the same conditions. |

Veteran 222 Southern Maryland | Subject: RE: Crappy Winter Weather Challenge 2011-2012 If I was still living in PA I could have scored some major points. As it is, all our crappy weather came the last 3 days of October. Today I ran in mid-40's with virtually no wind and lots of sun. DARN YOU MOTHER NATURE!!!!! End of the week is looking more promising though... |

Elite 3489 Lakewood, CO | Subject: RE: Crappy Winter Weather Challenge 2011-2012 Guess I should have grabbed my stuff for a lunchtime run - could have scored some points. Temps staying in the upper 20's - winds in teens - with gusts in 20's - and light snow. Oh well, that is the same conditions for my walk in this morning so I'll have to settle for those points. |

Veteran 418 , Louisiana | Subject: RE: Crappy Winter Weather Challenge 2011-2012 The weather has cooperated with this challenge quite well. As soon as November hit, we've had some pretty wintry stuff. Cool mornings, and a blizzard last night which continued through my morning commute makes for some early points. Since I was already on my bike this morn, I figured I might as well run some errands to rack up those points before you Minnesotans and East Coasters surpass me during real winter. And, instead of being grumpy for having to clear off my car, pay for parking, and shiver while my car warmed up, I started off the day with a smile on my face biking to work through snow-covered streets. Thank you, CWC! Oh, and we *may* get another snowstorm on Saturday. Here's to hoping |

Ditto. It's almost like running down the street, right? And seeing that set-up would be pretty entertaining. |

Thanks for the vote of confidence there, but we've got Bill with his monster Mukluk that he might cross Antarctica in, Lenny who is either running or skiing across the snowy north, Darren aka Iceman Cometh who'll be racking up 1000 points a day into May...and these Colorado folks who look like they're going to be in for a very heavy snow season. Hooray for the CWWC! |

Only one sprint tri under my belt but I live in Southern WV where the weather can get really crappy too! Is it too late to join the challenge? How do I add my name to the spreadsheet? I logged onto Google and went under documents to try to find the Crappy Winter Weather Challenge but I am not seeing it. Too late for me to sign up? I need glasses? It's actually nice out today so I don't think I'll be getting any points today. Edited by hohlenfrau 2011-11-02 12:18 PM |

I will have to float this past my wife first and see if she threatens to devorce me. |

Long run scheduled for tomorrow but morning temp is supposed to be 40. I could move it to Thursday morning when the temp is supposed to be 30. Ok, I know that is crazy.
Nah, not crazy ...it's just a side effect of the CWWC ! I think we're all guilty of switching some stuff around to potentially maximize our chiller points. |

Did you log in using the BT information? If not, it'll be accessing your personal google info, not the BT stuff. If this is the case, sign out of your Google account and log back in using this: User: btchallenge Password: challengeforum2 Then click "share" (top right). At the bottom of the popup window, look for "add people" and type in your email address. Click "done." This way, you'll be able to log in with your own email info. BigDH (Darren) --> Re the "past challenges".... Guess someone got a little carried away while doing 'spreadsheet cleanup duty.' Can't imagine who that might have been. But it was probably me. I've moved the spreadsheet out of 'Past Challenges' and back to the home directory (current challenges). |

New user 4 | Subject: RE: Crappy Winter Weather Challenge 2011-2012 Thanks, everyone! I found it and added myself to the sheet. I just checked the weather report and it's looking pretty mild temperature-wise. Never thought I'd be disappointed to see some warmer weather predicted! I do see some rain on one day but it will still be above 40. Oh, well. It'll get crappy soon enough, I'm sure. |

Tonight we are right at 35 degrees, medium snow/rain/sleet, 25-30 mph winds. I must have told myself to htfu a dozen times already this evening. I need to get the little guy to bed, and then I guess I will head out. Oh, what have I gotten myself in for??? Yikes. I keep telling myself -- this or the treadmill. This or the treadmill. Anything but the treadmill. |

Master 2770 Central Kansas | Subject: RE: Crappy Winter Weather Challenge 2011-2012 First run of the challenge done. It was not pretty. 34 degrees 28 sustained winds. But I didn't get out in time to run in the snow/sleet/rain. That was disappointing and a relief at the same time. Made it half a mile and tripped over an uneven sidewalk. Seriously? I mean I really fell. I was even stunned for a minute and couldn't get up. The good news is that this fall didn't happen in August when I wasn't wearing much and could have really scraped my knee and my palm. With all the layers I had on, I think I'm okay. I limped for a block, then walked for a block, and then ran home. Total run: 1 stinking mile. But it was still better than the treadmill, and I'm feeling really tough with my hurt knee. Other than that, the run was terrific. Those of you who said I would like running in the cold were right. |
