Master swim tonight,  Typical work out is about 2300m and I try to tack on about another 400 to 700m. My goal is 3000m each swim.  No pool time during the last week of Dec. So I will have to go big in the first three weeks.

1500 meters completed. Temperature was -18 c when I got up at 5:20. Had a light dusting of snow over night. 2 other individuals in my lane.

I swim Tuesday and Thursday mornings so this will be it for this week unless I find the pool schedule around Christmas/New Years eve does not accomodate my work outs. Gotta try and research that soon so that I am not caught short at the end of the month.

You gotta be kiddin' me!!!

He's not kidding. I live a couple hours south of Calgary and the radio said it was -19C when I took the dog for a walk at 7am. I doubt that we're the coldest Canucks today either. I'll be in the pool to start my December swimming later this evening.

Oh, I am all about Team Canada...I'm staying!

Renee - 2005-11-30 9:50 AM

Regarding JEUBANK:

I formed a Northeast team because we had enough folks from Alaska, Oregon, the Pacific to create another team. Do you want to keep JEUBANK? Does JEUBANK want to be kept?

Renee, for the team, I would not like to toss anybody.
I leave the final decision to JEUBANK.

If it's any consolation, it's currently snowing in downtown Victoria.  Yes, even in the land of year-round flowers and perpetual green grass, we too get slapped by the cold hand of winter once in a while. (Okay, "cold" is relative.. it's 3 degrees right now)

Of course, our snow never sticks to the ground.. but it's pretty to watch it fall from the sky!

Swimming tonight with the triathlon swim club.. will probably get 1700m in.

I have just got back from 500M Not as big or as far as most, but the first time in the pool for 2 1/2 months. Maybe it was so hard cause I am not clean shaven any longer

SFSC, Hope the Shoulder gets better!

Ok, I'm finally on the board too with 1600m early this morning. Go Team!

SFSC, as much as I'd like us to do well in the challenge, your longterm health trumps that. Do what you have to do for your shoulders and get well quick.

I sort of chickened out of my first scheduled swim this morning. Jogged yesterday and felt a little knee pain afterwards so I don't want to over do it. I will make up for it by doing by rescheduling my workout for Saturday Morning. Going for 3000yds to kick start it.

Don't want to let down all my fellow Maple Leafers.

(FYI...My Gym's pool is in yards, that's why I had to leave the metric system for this contest)

Yards, Miles.....Fahrenheit.......what's up with that?

"My water freezes at 32 degrees" 'It boils at 212 degrees" US guy
"My water freezes at 0 and boils at 100....it's so simple" Canadian guy

Sorry for the rant..I've just always found it funny that the Americans never adopted the simpler of the systems.

Back to work now..

The US should have adopted it. In fact, they made an agreement with Germany in the scientific world that Germany would start writing their documents in english if the US would adopt the international system of units. The US liked the idea of reading german papers in english, but didn't like changing units. hmmm

Anyway, the shoulder was fine today. Coach decided not to make us go 5k... wonder why. But anyway, keep up the good training everyone
