Copied all the 40-44s to excel and they filled 200 rows. Some clydes in there but close enough. Tou could also just click on age and manually count....ETA: looks like the start list is in pdf format now so you cant do that anymore. :-( This morning it was still a sortable list.#1033 Louskie, how do you know there's 200 racers in your AG? Not sure about last year, but in the past they have had a big boat (with a squiggly man on it) that you are required to keep on your left and go around. |

That should be interesting. From what I remember, you sorta turn out of the main channel for the last little bit of the swim, so you swim out of the main current. So I imagine you are just swimming in "normal" water at that point. I don't recall it being an issue in 2010, but then again, we didnt have any current that year so maybe it will be different this year. FWIW, I wouldnt worry too much about the swim. It was one of my favorite swims in any tri I have done- you dont really have to sight because its a straight channel! Just dont miss the turn (like I did) :-) |

NO!! I want, no...NEED, current! Boy, with this weather, that water temp is going to drop a few degrees before the 20th! I'll be in a full wetsuit. Anyone plan on using booties? Do they make that much of a difference? |

The stretch from the turn to the finish is not far at all, so don't worry about being out of the current...even with booties on you will be OK. |

258 | Subject: RE: Beach2Battleship Half Iron Distance Triathlon : Official Thread A few questions......I just reserved a spot for the athlete dinner for friday night. do I need to print out my ticket or will they have a list of names when I show up to the door? Also I might be traveling solo so how am I going to get from the Wrightsville Holiday Inn to the start and from the finish line back to my hotel? I am not staying saturday night so once I get my car from the hotel I would have to head back and pick up my bike. Is this even possible with downtown race traffic? Hopefully I can sucker a friend into coming and being my personal taxi. |

Hopefully I can sucker a friend into coming and being my personal taxi. One solution would be to drive to the convention/downtown area Saturday am and leave your car..take one of the shuttle buses to T1. After the race, your car will be right there. According to yesterday's email, shuttle spots are almost gone, so might be worth making a res even if you don't wind up using it. If that doesn't suit, there are cabbies that could fill any of the gaps in transportation. Not sure about the ticket but IIRC you don't need a ticket, there's a list. |
