Ok that's cool. I've already set myself a mileage goal for this month running wise, the ST is mostly about staying consistent though.

Ok just realised I added an extra run in when I did my time - run from Tuesday which was actually July - so I've fixed it up for honesty's sake. Need to find a proper ST routine to I can get some decent time in there though.

45 minutes run this morning. 4 miles. Being slower might be an advantage this month Best run I have had in weeks. YAY!

quite possibly, but I'm not sure it's balanced out by my low mileage. I'm at a 22:xx mile pace (run/walk) which would give me in excess of 616 but I'm sure the higher mileage people will outstrip me. Oh well, I'm adding to it with barefoot runs on the spot so maybe I will go pretty high. Not too sure how high the ST stuff will be yet although I should get in at least 240 mins  if I make the class I want to do each week.

I went out for a 10-miler this afternoon, but only made it 4 miles before it started storming.  If I had just checked the weather earlier in the day, I would have started my run earlier!  But I guess that's what I get for procrastinating!

The clouds had been looming starting about 2 miles into my run, which is why I turned back early.  Lightning/thunder started just as I approached my building, and this is what I was greeted with from the window when I made it back into my unit (around 4:30 in the afternoon, so definitely not night time!):

Storm Clouds

It started downpouring as I was logging my workout!  I'm hoping to make up for the missed mileage tomorrow after my long bike ride.  It'll be a nice brick workout!

Well that was interesting.....  8.3 miles and very labored the last 2.  Don't know how my HM will go next weekend.  I am banking on the last 11 miles being downhill!!!!

I'm off the mark for the month!

did a half mary yesterday in 1:48:49. Was aiming for 1:45 best case scenario, but thought 1:50 was more realistic, so I'm happy. This was really just a test run to see how I am progressing for my HIM at the end of October.

I figure that with another 11 weeks of training to go that I should be able to run about the same time after the 90k bike.

Also have stretched for 50 minutes, so a good start on my recovery focus.

Way to run a good race, Stuart! Everyone's doing a good job but Judi (QueenZipp) is killing us. I'm off camping with my daughter's cross country team for a few days so I won't be updating the spreadsheet but I for sure will be running and doing some core workouts. Have a great week everyone!

I'm recovering from IT band issues but I'm increasing the time I spend running by about 1 - 2 minutes per day, then I will drop back a little in a week or so.  Yesterday I ran 25 minutes, after a hilly, hard 40 minute stationary bike ride.  I have been getting my lifting in too.  Worked back and tri's today.  I also got lots of swims, runs and lifting in while on vacation.

I haven't figured out how to post pics on here yet...one day..maybe but I have pics posted on www.bodybuilding.com and my username there is KWDreamun I have pics of my bikes but can't upload them...lol

Hope you've had more luck with that than I have. They are glued! (Thankfully my yoga is on iPad app.)

I have lots of logging to do today. I've been slacking. Been a busy weekend, but I did run, and do some lifting.

owl_girl - 2012-08-01 5:11 PM I'd love to join in on the fun, however, can I do miles rather than minutes of running?

Can I ask why you want miles instead of minutes?

I train by miles.  I could care less about time.

That's how I usually train, too, but for the challenge I thought it was more fair to go by minutes, especially since adding the second activity, than miles, but you can do miles if you like. Welcome to the challenge.

Thanks!!!!  Heading to the spreadsheet!

Alright.....so I decided to go for minutes since the spreadsheet isn't set up for miles.  No biggie.

How is everyone doing on their minutes?

Well I got my first run in today... it was actually supposed to be a walk with my dog but he's been cooped up in the house alone all day so he was super excited when we got out and only wanted to run so I ran with him thinking it would last a minute or so and it turned into the whole loop back to our house.  Only .6 miles but we covered it in just over 6 minutes which is fast for me.
