And, if the game wasn't enough - did anyone hear that McCarron has a hot girlfriend?

After hearing what Musburger said, I wouldn't be surprised if she filed a restraining order.

Here's her in the Miss Alabama competition as well as the "He said what?" comment

Sorry, that spot belongs to my Commodores.  The leprechauns can have fifth.

That was embarrassing last night.  My favorite comment I've read today is "We heard that ND had an SEC caliber defense.  Who knew they were talking about Tennessee?"

So if the playoffs started today, 4 teams, who would it be?

Bama, Georgia (again), Oregon, A&M?

That makes sense to me, but look at that... 3 SEC teams.

Would Clemson argue to be in there?

South Carolina has a good argument to get into that mix as they beat Clemson and Georgia...

Go with all BCS winners

'Bama Vs Louisville
Oregon Vs either Stanford or FSU

Which would probably (note probably, "oops" games happen) end up with Oregon Vs 'Bama.

Interesting.  So there's still one sitting out that is just as deserving ("Hey, we won a BCS game!").

Before someone chimes-in here with "Well the 4 teams in the 'playoff' will meet in the bowl games." We know that.  We're just saying what 4 teams would you put in a playoff right now.  Hypotheticals is all we got.

I'm kind of starting to get on the conference champion bandwagon. If you can't even win your conference, then you shouldn't be in the race for the championship. That's the playoff there.... Win your conference, then you can see about a national championship. Top 4 rated conference champions, and ND has to pick a conference or don't play for NC. This "9 win season gets a BCS bowl bid" business is crap.

So that would make Stanford, Alabama, K-State, FSU. Alabama crushes everyone there, but I don't see how you have Stanford win the conference but Oregon play in the playoffs?????(same with the other conferences). I also don't see how you have them ranked ahead of Stanford (just as an example) going into the playoffs.

Sub-genre with records:
Alabama 7-1 13-1
Florida State 12-2
Stanford 8-1 12-2
Oregon 8-1 12-1
Louisville 11-2

I guess that would kick Louisville out. So
AL FSU
Stanford OR

That would work

So you're saying the PAC12 is better than the SEC? Wink

Why would FSU or Stanford (both 2 loss teams) have more ability to stay in than Louisville?

But aren't we doing this wrong?  You don't pick the top 4 from now.  You pick the top 4 BEFORE the bowl games.  The point is the big bowl games ARE the playoffs.

If that's the case then it's

ND, AL, FL & OR

(granted FL choked BIG time against Louisville but I honestly think they would have put up a better fight against AL than ND)

I'd prefer the conference champions (either by a championship game or regular season at their choosing) be the play in games as well.

And limit conference size to 12 teams. That way, a 20 team conference can't b!tch they have more teams hence need a second slot.

If I were king there would be four 24 team conferences .....each with four 6 team divisions.  The playoffs would start at the division level (minor bowl games), move to the conference level (mid bowl games), and then to the championship series. (major bowls).....have a third place game to make it 4 majow bowl games.

Yeah, it looks alot like the pro format only with more teams and games, but you need that to keep the bowl game people happy.

If you want to keep the same number of schools in Div. one than make the conferences/divisons larger.

I know it's not goiung to happen, but it'd be pretty simple.

Right, but they wouldn't hold it after the bowls.  So I'm not sure what the point was.

And for the record even Louisville would have given a better game than ND.  I'm not trying to argue FL into the NC game this year.  They did not deserve it.  But neither did ND.

Texas High School Football Players end-up playing 16 games to get to the championship.  There are at-least as many schools in each TX high school division as there are in CFB and yet every year, they crown a champion.

FBS college football is all about programs getting to win their last game and calling themselves "champion" of something at the end of the year "GoDaddy.Com Bowl Champion!!!"

So, I'm just one tier ahead of you with 12 teams per conference and more conferences.

We're agreeing today. Perhaps the Mayans were right?

We were at an Aggie's house with an Auburn grad this weekend and we came-up with a great idea.  SEC should kick one team out per year and allow one team in each year.  "Sorry Kentucky, you gotta go play in the Sun Belt conference. Welcome in Louisville!"

European Soccer style.
