Gooooooooo Manatees!!

DL'ers, glad to see there's improvement.  However, Monica, it was very kind of you to step in to fill the knee injury slot vacated by Tom, but really, it wasn't necessary.

GO TEAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Kate - good luck with the marathon training!!

I like the indicators on the DL list "improving!" KEEP IMPROVING!

I signed up to bring fruit, maybe I should've said syrup because I'm a bit of a syrup snob. No fake stuff at my house! Also, Coach said he doesn't drink coffee and to bring our own. Which, of course, means a SBux stop, but I'm not sure I can continue to work with this man

This will be my first Olympic, so I'm really looking forward to it.  I'd love to break the 2:30 mark, but we'll see how it goes.  The bike course is pretty hilly.  The 10k is pretty flat and is a double out and back.

Sooooo, last night I went hiking with my friends. It's something I try and do weekly.

Anyhoo, we were going to these natural rock slides at the base of this waterfall. While my friends were changing I was walking along the riverbank taking photos. I was standing on this lonnnng flat slab of granite that had about a 30 degree slope into the swift river below. I looked around and noticed it was really wet. Just as I was thinking to myself, "Hmmm if I fell there would be nothing to grab onto and I would go straight into the river.."
it happened. My feet flew out from under me, I landed on my rear and slid SO fast down on the rock and off the edge into the river, fully clothed. Yup.

I was super lucky, it was actually really fun and I did it again to show my friends but OMG that could have been so bad! LOL

You could always bring syrup even though you didn't sign up to.  That way you'd know you'd be "covered."

Coach sounds tough!!  No cursing and BYOC=brutal.

Love that phrase.  It always seems like it's used in the context of "S/he does the best s/he can but utterly fails, bless her/his heart."

I'm still posting at 2am because Bless-Her-Heart decided it was time to get up and dressed and start clamoring around the kitchen for breakfast.

Of course, I start thinking about breakfast already around dinner time ...

She got a cookie and some sugary milky decaf tea and got sent back to bed.

I fully admit that while I'm on Mutti-watch (I posted this on FB) I'm pretty much letting us, errr I mean her eat whatever she wants, off disposable plates and cutlery. Seriously, that lady can get in a heap of trouble if you turn your back for ONE MINUTE to do the dishes.

Hm. Now who does this remind me of ...

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
