Discussed the BT Silver membership with my DH last night and I think that is what I'm going to do. I think it's time for more structure to my workouts. I guess I need to be told what to do While in Moab I got a flyer for an OLY in western Colorado in October. I think I'll set that for my next A race, with some sprints sprinkled along the way. I'm doing a sprint in Santa Fe in July because I want the shirt. The logo is so cool!
That is cool. Hey, where in Western Colorado is the tri in October? I'm less than 4 hours from the border, so if it is far western Colorado . . . It's in Fruita, which is near Grand Junction. Here's the link: http://www.racingunderground.com/desertsedgetri/ Oh, I'm so dumb. I'm close to western Kansas, but eastern Colorado. I need a nap. Fruita would be beautiful, but that's a real hike for me. What will the weather be like in October? Fall on the Western Slope is Bee-U-Tiful! We lived over there for about 7 years and I love the spring and fall there! |

Member 892 England | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod felt really frustrated today. needed to get out and run so decided to knock out a long one. Set off around 8pm. back by 8.05 having puked enough to have to spit it out after only 300m. Note to self. Don't run after a curry/ bhajis and naan bread. So good to hear all the great race comments from you guys. Makes me want to sign up for my next one, but like to keep Kirk wondering and Salty cursing.

Ooooh now I want to know! Don't ever tell me not to ask! Let's just say that this particular citizen would not have any trouble peeing on the bike if he ever decided to do an IM... Meanwhile, Tracy has his puking thread. What a group! Alright! I love this! First of all, I have YET to push myself to puking. I am not a a very pukey kind of person so it is kind of on my bucket list. Congrats on that Tracy! I am very impressed. Second, I am reading CWs book (aren't we all) and she is talking about sh*tting herself and it was making me feel really relived that one can still shat themselves and win a race. That's awesome that she shares that! I can't wait to read it!! Going to get it on my nook for my trip to COSTA RICA next week!! Maybe if I read about triathlon, I won't feel so bad for not training?!?!? |

"Haven't puked at a race yet either, need to find that upper level of "hurt" in a race, July 8th looks like a good time to find it though... And yeah it is kind of on my bucket list too, we are a weird group. I have puked before due to physical activity though, training runs in the academy and on a PT test.
Got my next two races signed up and paid for today, just need to get the HIM in January registered by end of July and plotted my training plans through the HIM in January, I have alot of training in my future." Nice group of races you have planned there! We love racing and puking! Edited by TriRx 2012-06-12 5:23 PM |

Kokapelli!! VERY cool logo, do it!! :D Oh, and I loved the pics from your race and also training. The desert seems so exotic to me since I am used to trees and not cacti. I've lived in the midwest and in the high desert. I prefer the desert. As for Moab, I've dubbed her the "Lady in Red". She is beautiful and mysterious, but if you underestimate her and are not prepared for all she can be, she WILL crush you. I know Moab well. We've been going there since our boys were little. Yet somehow I underestimated her and learned my lesson. LOL now you have my attention! I want to go on a date with Moab! It sounds like it may be more of a one night stand...maybe that's when I will get my bucket list puke! |

Yeah, heading to Canyonlands is on my to do list. You can thank both Aaron Ralston and Christopher McCandless Although, hopefully I have better luck than both of them. I value my life AND my arm. A little puke I can handle though

Meanwhile, Tracy has his puking thread. What a group! Mine has not actually happened, yet. It nearly came after a 5K that I PR'd. I do admit to having an egg sandwich pre-race though, so it may not have been effort that caused it. Ah, it is good to have goals. Speaking of which, I ran today on the treadmill for the first time in a coon's age. And since the speedometer is right in front of me I decided I would run some fartleks, always adding another .5 mph with each successive one. The final one I was moving at 8 mph for 1:30, which is flying in my world. I have a goal to move at Salty speed, if only for a minute, at some point. I figured out that she averaged about 8.5 mph (+/-) in her last race, which, BTW, is awesome. |

Thought I'd just have a look at the diary for my next races etc - holy cow Olympic in 20weeks, HIM in 22 weeks, Full IM in 40 weeks. Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod Did a short brick tonight--run was the first off the bike since my fit. Didn't totally love it. Felt ok, actually pretty good on the bike, but my right leg felt heavy throughout the run. Hopefully just my body adjusting. At least I seem to be over my little freak out of last week and feel pretty good about where I am in training. |

Sounds like you all did fantastically! This is a drive by post as I am sitting in the lobby of my hotel in Galway waiting for the bus to take us to see the cliffs of Moher. It is beautiful here which is a welcome change from the weather we had in London. Alan, I thought I asked you to supply sun for my visit, instead you gave me rain followed by more rain! I now have a cold and have completely lost my voice!I have gotten some training in: 5 miles running through Kensington gardens, some treadmill running and 4 miles around the cliffs of Galway I could get used to thisgood luck to any manatees who are racing this weekend. |

My first run (other than the 1 mile slinger) since the crash. It probably should have been shorter but there were these two piglets ahead of me and ................ Awesome! I'm not sure what I'm going to do today. I should run 5-6 miles, and I'm hoping to swim at 6:00 p.m. With that in mind, I'm going to sit at the pool and sip a sugar-free frappe while my little by has swimming lessons in 20 minutes. I also have to go into work at 1:00. Blech. Our RV should be put back together today or tomorrow, and then the three of us are hoping to escape somewhere close for the weekend -- to test that everything really holds together on the road. My son was asking me yesterday why daddy did what he did to the RV, and I almost cried telling him. My husband is amazing. He really wanted to trash the whole thing, but I protested and said that I didn't want to give up on it. So, even though he didn't want to do it, because he loves me, he removed everything in the galley, took a saw to the floor, had a new aluminum frame made, installed the frame in the galley, put in a new floor, re-wired, re-plumbed water and gas, and has just one more bench and the water tank to install before the galley is put back together. It looks so nice -- better than before. I can't believe he did it -- in about three weeks. Wow. So, when my son asked why he did it, I just said, "Because he loves me." |
