Elite 4435 | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED 4agoodlife - 2013-04-16 5:00 PM I usually do a lot of inner thinking and processing before I comment on the things like today, so I've been pretty quiet the last 10ish hours. As a mother who is most often a spectator with my kids, Boston shook me. Those bombs were for the families and friends cheering on the accomplishment of everyone passing by. That....grrrr! But tonight I can do nothing about Boston. I hugged and cuddled my kids, and I will kiss and cuddle DH. And I will remind myself and all of you what joy and innocence looks like at a race... Nice. |

My husband thinks I am a sheep, but I am all in favor of the people who are charged with protecting us having all the power they need to do it.Is anyone else a little creeped out by "They shut down cell service?" I didn't know they could just blanket an area and shut down the cell service in that area only... Pretty Powerful that "they" can do that. I'm not really worried about our government having this ability.. but can you imagine if the North Koreans had that power? |

I am still kind of in shock by it--going from depressed about the state of mind of people who do that, to mad that it happens. Its just unbelievable. What does impress me is that people who run/do tris are making sure that others are okay--such as people on this site--That is truly inspiring.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE I know it must seem a difficult day to have a birthday, or celebrate, but even more so it has become a day to celebrate LIFE and those who choose to live well, care for life, and care for our world and the living beings in it. Of that, you are the epitome. So happy birthday indeed. Happy Birthday to you.. Hope you had a good one. |

Master 1890 Gig Harbor | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED Good night everyone. I will close my eyes tonight thinking about those who lost their lives and those that were injured today. I will be thinking about all those marathoners, and the incredible accomplishments of each and every one of them (whether they were able to finish or not). I will also be thinking about what a great group we have here, and in the tri / running community as a whole. I am truly thankful to have found and joined this group. While nothing can replace the intimacy of looking into someones eyes, hearing their voice, or physical contact from an handshake or a hug, the bond from an "e" relationship seems quicker to form than when meeting people in real life. I can't think of a nicer bunch of people to have met online and "e" bonded with. I am happy to consider you all my friends, even though we haven't met in person. I genuinely wish you all nothing but the best, and I look forward to the day we can meet in person. Sleep well, and be safe. |

Humanity is strong, and even stronger in the face of evil. |
