As far the cat, he had to stay overnight.

The poor guy was squatting every 2 minutes to pee and nothing was coming out. Apparently it can be pretty serious, especially for male cats, so we took him in.

I have not heard from them, which is good. I am supposed to call this afternoon.

I'm a terrible mom. He was making this hilarious mouth open face while at the vet so I took a picture. He looks pissed:

Poor kitty.  My cat was blocked a couple of years ago.  They kept him 3 days.  He was NOT a happy kitty.  Now he's on high maintenance food for urinary problems that costs a small fortune.

Once your FIL sees it, there is no shame in the game.

The BT mods might disagree.

Oh sure, I see your bluff! BT has this rarely used feature called albums. You can upload pics and share them with a select group.

Looking for some opinions on tri watches/HRMs. My next one is on the near horizon My watch now is a Polar FT4, and I'm contemplating switching to the Garmin 310xt.  Anyone have one now or experience with one?

I may expand on my thoughts later, but I need to get to the gym. Very late tonight!!!!

I've got the 310 - love it. However, don't get anything before the 17th, Garmin is having a huge sale on the 910s (299.99 unbundled ) and there is speculation that the 310s will decrease in price. Plus DC Rainmaker says hold off buying as there is some bit announcement of Friday at 12:01. No idea what it is, but could affect how you want to proceed.
Hahaha! Thanks for info...I think DH must have picked now to torture me with waiting :/ Soooo you love it? good! What do you think of size? That's my biggest "not sure". I don't wear a watch except for workouts, and it looks really big compared to my Polar. Does it feel cumbersome or in the way?
It is big, but I don't notice it at all when I wear it and I am a little thing . I wear it for both work outs and racing and have never had an issue with it getting in my way - like I said, I don't even notice it is there.

actually, I wear 2 watches on one wrist - my standard timex that I wear all the time and then the 310 behind it. I started doing that when I had the 205 (305 without heart rate option) because I could not get the fit tight enough on my wrist, so when I ran the 205 slid up and down a bit, bruising my hand near the thumb. Keeping my timex on stopped that from happening. I think the band on the 310 is such that I could wear it alone, but 2 watches is such a super cool kids look that I don't

Oh dear, two watches one wrist??? Yer killin' me. Then again, I don't have 27 hands.
Don't hate me just because I am that cool.

And you don't like ... tip over or anything?

ponderingfox - 2013-05-15 6:15 AM Went for a walk this morning and my knee didnt bother me at all. If this continues through the week, I'll begin running again on Sunday.

Great to hear! Slow and steady gets you prepared to prepare. Keep after it.

And make sure to ease back into it for sure...easy mile here, easy mile there.  Don't run until it hurts.

What I was thinking was one mile every morning next week, then two miles the week after, and then three the week after that. I should be good to go after that. Agree?
What does your PT say? I would tackle it a little different. I would work on building/keeping fit with lots of high intendity low impact stuff like aqua jogging (permitting it doesn't hurt knee) and biking and hit PT prescribed regard hard. I would worry about miles or time walking per se.

After taking care of that, I've come back from injury better using more early c25k style (or maybe Galloway?). As in run for a few min, then walk for a few. Building up the total time and percentage run that way. Could get in a lot more without hurting anything.

Yeah, I agree with this, once you get to the point where you are building. Keeping all of the runs reeeeaaaally easy. Perhaps even doing some work on a softer surface if possible. Keeping all of the intensity on the low impact stuff (as I had suggested above)

Tom, what was the diagnosis? I would be interested in working on building up some strength if there is a muscular weakness/imbalance that is causing this in the first place.

Open mouthed breathing is a sign of stress in kitties.  You ARE a terrible mom Wink

Glad you noticed and took him in right away though, it is serious, for sure.

He really is a pretty little cat. Is this the one that hates you?

Asalzwed - 2013-05-15 8:41 AM Uhh so, I had an interesting afternoon evening yesterday. Without getting into the details, a rough summary:1. Did whole swim workout with suit on inside out2. Had to take cat to ER3. FIL was staying at our house last night before he left for hike and was borrowing Js iPad. He decided to look at the pictures and saw a umm err scantily clad photo of myself.

1.  Meh, whatever

2. Is kitty ok?

3. Bahahahahahahahahahahahaha.  Sorry, but that is funny.  We were showing some pics from our trip to Singapore to some friends when a similar thing happened...
