I am a little early for the rollover so we'll say 14 Days and change.....

- Forecast for Nov. 6 high 73/low 55 Abundant Sunshine (not kidding it really says abundant)Cool
- Water temp at PCB 73.2 degrees

Two weeks from today the athlete's meeting will be done.  Gear bags and bikes will have been checked a million times and be ready to turn in.  The anticipation of the final 24 hours will be at hand. Good luck to all and stay safe and healthy in these last few days.

I got mine back on sunday....minus my sunglasses and watch...they pile them up in a big heap for you to search through...apparently after a few others have searched through them :0  I wouldn't leave anything you love in them!!

I worked T1 last year and we put all the morning clothes bags and T1 bags in the same area where the T1 bags...tried to sort them so your T1 and morning clothes bags were together..making it eaiser for you to pick them up...I didn't see where they put the T2 bags after you were done with them.  I understood you DID NOT get your SN bags back.  Someone posted you could fill a food bank with all the food that was left in the SN bags after the race.

I almost threw up my breakfast when I read your post. Remind me to stay away from the forum the week before the race! I'm only nervous when I read these posts.

Sounds like everyone is as jumpy as I am. Yesterday I got an email from IM and almost jumped outta my skin...until I read it was just another confirmation of registration. Good Grief!! I got notice of our local 10k run occurring on 03-27-10 asking me to sign up. I'm like, "wait a minute, there are other things going on other than IMFL". I am living in the IM Bubble.

I am one of the obsessive folks that have been checking for bib numbers for the last three weeks...that was until Monday.
Monday afternoon my 7 yr old son was involved in an "explosion" that seriously injured him, leaving him with a major brain injury.  He is doing ok, but it sure has put things in perspective for me.

We have all put a lot of ourselves into the race.  Our time, our energy, our money...our lives.  And, many others have made sacrifices for us to do this.  We are lucky to have the opportunity to do this.

I hope to be in FL, , but I am not sure I will be.  If I am I will surely be nervous, however things are now in a whole new light.  Last week at this time I would not have paid much attention to Socks' comment "Dont' stress/worry/obsess over it" now I am living by it ... as far as IMFL goes

Everyone be safe out there!  Have a good weekend, Linda

As the father of a 5 year old and a paramedic who responds to such scenes I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear that. I can't imagine what you are going through. If you do decide to go to IMFL and there is anything that we can do to help please let us know. Good Luck your son will be in our thoughts.

Linda..

Take care of that little one and you know you have an entire community behind you here on BT that will be praying for you and your family. I know many people will say these types of things to you...but know that all of us here mean it from the heart!!

God bless you Linda, and your little boy. Prayers for you both.

Things like this remind me that this is just a race, no matter how much I obsess over it.

OMG I am so so sorry to hear of this.  I hope he comes thru with flying colors and you are able to make it to the race.  He will be in thoughts and prayers.  We DO all invest a LOT of ourselves in this ironman thing but the bottom line is that there are lots more important things in life, like this, to tie yourself into knots over.   Focus on your son and family.  If you get to come, fantastic, it will be icing on the cake, but if not there will be other IMs.
