MDHillSlug - 2009-05-17 3:06 PM I finished my 40 mile ride today but it was tough. The first 24 miles were into headwinds and also had lots of climbing; I averaged less than 12mph for this. After taking a break and having a snack I was finally getting a bit of a tailwind and my mph average climbing a lot (over 16mph). Along in here I realized I had a car just to my left pacing me; I look over and it's a cop. He has his window down and tells me that I need to be riding closer to the white line so that the cars can get by. I said "Yes sir" and he went on his way. This really irks me because this was not a very safe manoeuver for me and because I believe that he was wrong. It's my understanding that I'm entitled to take the entire lane if I so desire. I was not about to debate it with him right then

Good job for that 40 miles As far as the road, I am pretty sure you are right and he was wrong. But I am no cop.

Was it as windy as predicted? Looks like the wheels fell off during the second run but I'd still kill to run that fast!

My tri turned into a du and had a delayed start.  It was really windy and wet on the bike, so I was a little slower than I wanted to be.  But, I finished and I didn't crash!  That's the important thing.

Working on my race report.  No official results yet, so I won't post until those are available.

It was soo windy, 20 to 32 mph winds ... Sucks that the ITBand did act up during the last 2.5 because I had a pretty good time overall.

We had a couple people who didn't log their training this week - I added it in.

Also, did I read correctly that races get to count for double?  If so, that puts me a lot higher on biking.

As per the rules bricks count 1.5x, races count 2x. Update the log and it will get counted in for next week/final totals.

Ok.  I have it as 2x now.  I may need to raise my goal!  I'm at 94% right now and I have a 50 mile ride planned for next weekend.

I updated my swim goal from 20k to 26k for the month. Heading out of town Wednesday morning for a week so won't get much swimming in, but two more 3k sessions and a little extra the last week of the month will take care of the new goal.
