On weekends, I have no excuse unless there is some type of freak rain storm.

That's not an excuse where I live

I'm spoiled.

HAHAHA!

Someone in TAN or my mentor group has told me that every day for years. Can't help myself. Love the show sometimes ... but today I'm just a viewer.

For the record, I've done a road/trainer combo a handful of times ... usually because the traffic here was even worse than expected, even on, say, a very early Sunday morning.

By "traffic" I mean a near-complete lack of rules, usually a complete lack of enforcement, but more vehicles than usual on the road. Not worth my skin, head, ribs, etc. By the time I get home I am just THRILLED to be on the trainer, for real.

My impression of SE Asia is that the lines on the road and lights on the poles were merely suggestions that drivers were free to follow or, usually, not

From my experience in China, lines on the road were just sort of letting you know if the road is straight or curved.

I asked this before and have now lost the answer - put it somewhere safe...

I'm borrowing a 404 for the HIM, and want to runa latex tube.  Plan to use a 60mm Michelin Aircomp.  Can I couple that particular tube with a zipp extender?

. Yes will work with a regular Zipp extender

Any experience with the Bontrager 51mm latex tube.  That's what the LBS has.

None but some people are allergic to latex.

Yeah they work fine with the original Zipp extenders (not the removable core thing).

WTC isn't quite giving up the ship yet; that race may be in legal limbo depending on what action they take with Graham.  I'm already signed up for Tahoe, but even if my calendar was clear I think I'd avoid Penticton for 2013.

True...I would wait for the WTC to announce where IMC is going to be next year.  It's going to be somewhere.

That's what I use. I used to use Michelin's but the Bontragers were easier to find.

The Bontragers have removable cores. You remove it, put an extender and then put the valve at the end of the extender.

Or you can use an extender that doesn't require a removable core.

. With the likely demise of the 100 Kona slot race IMNYC I suspect WTC will arrange for an IMC event times out within a month of the challenge penticton race with 100 Kona slots. This would be a sound business strategy as it would crush the challenge event.... Which from the angle of WTC would be a big positive. Not so sure it's a positive for us triathletes, but it is a way to kill off your competition. Calgary is being listed as a possible choce.

Yep they sent an email to the athletes in this year's race saying as much.  Snippet:

IRONMAN is pursuing multiple unique venue options for the new IRONMAN Canada race and is excited to build upon the long-standing tradition of IRONMAN Canada as one of the most iconic races in the global IRONMAN Series. The new race, tentatively scheduled for late August/early September 2013, will feature double the amount of age group slots for the IRONMAN World Championship, an increase from 50 to 100 slots, as well as an increase in KPR points and prize money for professional athletes.

But, they're also still consulting with legal about whether or not returning the event license to Graham would put the city of Penticton in breach of contract -- thus forcing them to break off Challenge Penticton and continue Ironman Canada until 2014.

Big fat mess created by people who are extraordinarily greedy: WTC, Challenge and the town of Penticton -- all of them.

I keep hearing rumors of IM Whistler. Remember that Wistler is owned by the people that own Mont Tremblant.
