Oh, one more thing. Im not so paranoid about getting sick as I am injured! Wet leaves on roads are freaking me out!!! They're slippery, cover potholes and make me crazy!! I'm gonna chicken out and ride the trainer today b/c it's wet outside and yesterday took a spin class instead of riding in the wet.  anyone else scared to get hurt?

Afraid of both the crashing on the wet cold roads and getting sick with the bugs, both are all around me. But tired of the trainer, so will be headed outside today for one last long brick session. Will be in Florida in a week in the warm sunshine.

Same here!  Cold and damp out today, so will be doing Computrainer.  It's really not that bad, compared to a regular trainer - and 100% safe!

14 days from now, we should all be done (or about done!) with the swim (if I calculated PCB on CT correctly).  Unreal.

Something I saw two racers use at IMMOO this year was instant ice packs. This was a great idea since there was a very limited supply of ice on the run course on the temps were high.

Posting from my blackberry hope this works. I just wanted to point out that we now have more post than any other race besides IMKY. IMMOO had 65 pages. IMKY ended up with 100 pages. Do you think we can do 35 more pages in 13 days?

Super paranoid about getting hurt, been on the trainer since the end of Sept. -felt a sore throat coming on last night a drank a gallon of grapefruit juice -haha crazy but feel better this morning! Also, fanatically worrying I'm losing fitness due to the low volume, but that can't happen right???

Weather sucked here this morning. Very windy and pouring rain. I thought the showers were going to pass through so I headed out on the bike for my 3.5 hour ride. Met up with my cycling team and we were on our way. First 10 mins, everything was fine then BAM, downpour and more and more wind. Rain stayed hard and strong for 2 hours. That's when I said enough and headed in to hit the trainer for the final 1.5 hours.

The good news is that I felt the best I've felt on the bike in months. Very strong and I was leading the pack most of the way. Attacking the hills as well. So the taper must be working! My transition run was pretty good as well. I did not push the pace but was able to do my 5 mile run in 40 mins. Without pushing it, I felt great.

Two more weeks!!

I didn't. I signed up for IM Wisconsin instead. Before I've even done the first one, I signed up for the second one.

Wife told me that I better make this one count as there wont be a next year!    Actually she has been very supportive, I couldnt have made it this far without her.

I am doing Eagleman 1/2 next year and then focusing on increasing my OLY distance speed.  I broke 2:30 this year and want to break 2:15 next.  I might come back to IM in a few years, but the training has really taken its toll on my body and life.

One and done here - unless I can find me a sugardaddy to support another IM.  I've enjoyed the journey and the race will hopefully be the reward but the real reward is having my family time back.

Here's a recent picture since I don't really look like the 2 goofballs jumping off the bed in my avatar. Looking forward to meeting you all & putting faces with names Getting very excited and felt SUPER strong on the trainer today. Have a 3 hr. ride w/ 90 min run after tomorrow - gonna do 2 hrs. on the trainer and 1 outside. I. am. so. paranoid. about. crashing.

this will be my one and done for me.  My wife will kill me if I try this again.  It will be nice to be back to family again.  She has been supportive but she has been an IronWidow for three years now when I did my first 1/2 Ironman and DNF. finished my 1/2 Ironman last year so this has been a very long training session.  Plus my work schedule only allows me to try this once every three years...so I am making the best of everything with this.  Lots of folks at work can't wait to track my progress on race day...along with vendors of my...plus friends here in town....it was pouring rain here this morning...so 4:15 on the bike trainer in the basement was a killer...then the sun came out when i finished, allowing me to go for my :45 run....then the clouds moved in and the rain began again...someone was watching me today...I too am afraid of falling/twisting ankle...went slow over the fallen leaves

I too am taking toothbrushes with paste in my bags.  I saw an athlete brushing his teeth at T2 last year and thought it was odd.  But the more I read on these forums, it helps to get the sugary taste out of your mouth.

Wife ordered our custom t-shirts for my mom, dad, her and my daughter to wear at the race.

According to my clock, I should be on the run by this point in two weeks, already past the halfway point...come on finish line!!!!....

Mr Steve

Never signed up for FL intended to last year but Canada opened up on line.

Plan is to sign up Sunday of course signing up means some deep thinking. How strange I'll have been to IMFL 3x before I will sign up.

  I'm sick...

Feels like food poisoning but I don't think it is.  Drinking tons of liquids and just relaxing as much as I can.  Unfortunately...work on Monday isn't an option.  Fingers crossed.
