Good job on yalls training and logs.  I was a little lower on everything than I wanted to be but I tapered for New Orleans and it took me several days to recover from that race also.  Overall I am happy with it and really looking forward to getting some miles this month on the bike.  Going to bring my run mileage back up over 100 this month too.

April's totals:

Bike:

25h 39m 03s  - 442.83 Mi

Run:

13h 18m 28s  - 92.85 Mi

Swim:

11h 02m  - 28600 Yd

Well, if you can all post your April totals then I can too:

Beers:  A Few – but less than March

Fine Scottish Single Malts:  More than March.  My fiancé has finally realized that we Scots do make dam good whisky.

Red Wine:  Lots.  Lots in March too.

Food:  Must have been less cause I’ve dropped from 198lbs to 190lbs.  I was 205lbs when I ran (my first) NY marathon last year so the training has started to pay off.

Swim: 3hrs…    MMMMM    Guess what my weakness is.  I’m not a fish.

Bike: 590miles – there are some nasty hill inRocklandCounty(North of NYC)

Run: 110 miles – different paces due to different lengths.

Strength: I started to do sit ups.  Another thing I do not do enough of but I have been told by many friends that core is so important………

“I promise that I will work on my core and swim during May”

Touché - Here's to a solid May!  Less that 12 weeks to go and I can not stop thinking about it.  I need to try focus on work sometime too!

Looks like we're working off the same plan.  I want to party with you at the finish line celebration!

I just had a moment of panic that I didn't have a hotel reservation. Thankfully a quick phone call alleviated my fears.

I did however realize that I'm scheduled to check in on Thursday and leave on Tuesday. The Tuesday I like because it gives me all Monday to relax before I have to leave but I'm thinking of seeing if I can try to check-in a day earily on Wednesday.

How long is everyone else going to be spending at Lake Placid for the weekend?

Right now I'm there Thursday- Tuesday. I'm contemplating going Wednesday but Thursday is the plan for now. Trying to minimize days off of work.

Hey guys!

Busy weekend for me. Did a night trail race on Sat which was super cool (even though I almost fell down a number of times) and then a duathlon (5km-30km-5km) on Sunday morning. Both went better than I thought they would, so I was pretty happy with myself. I'm not the strongest runner, but I gained 4 spots on the bike and held them through the second run. There were only 20ppl racing total and no one was a newbie...so my goal turned into "don't come in last". Haha. I finished pretty MOP overall!

April was not as awesome as I wanted it to be...School, personal life and the viral plague took over so I will have to make up for it this month! Here goes May!

On the plus side: I GET TO BIKE OUTSIDE NOW!!! The snow is gone!

I think I'm flying to Montreal on Wed and then driving down on Thurs to be there till Monday and drive back to Montreal. My Mom is coming with me...which is pretty lucky for me since she has offered to pay for my flight from Vancouver to Montreal and for the rental car!

gergzos - i`ll see you at the end..  Wait for me!!!   I intend to have a few beers and burger at the LP brewery afterwards....  Once i wipe the tears from my ear and hug my fiance and any of my mates who come to watch.....  They deserve it - all i talk about is this crazy (but extreamly enjoyeable) journey.

I was planning on arriving Friday...   Does this mean that i`ll miss out on stuff?  I checked the guide and the most important this to do it be there Fri and register - right???  Sat bike check in etc.  I guess i`ll missout on some expo stuff but on the other hand i`ll not have the fact i`m going to put my body through all amounts of pain, in my face, for 3 days.  I rented a lake house Sat - Sat so i had to get a hotel out in Plattsburgh for the Friday night.  Bit of a pain but manageable - plus is get to drive up Baby, Mummy and Daddy Bear a few times (although i plan to ride them some more before the big day).

Oh - i have something to share....   I found it very usefull.  http://www.byrn.org/gtips/imlp.htm

Hi IMLPeeps - I'm going to stay somewhere nearby on Wednesday night and then officially arrive Thursday morning. I'm booked through the following Wednesday because I figured I'd want some time after the race to relax, take in the atmosphere, and enjoy the time without the pre-race jitters of the race hanging over my head. I took off a full 2 weeks from work so I could have enough time to prepare beforehand and CELEBRATE afterwards! And there will be a lot of celebration

Ryan

I'm fortunate that this weekend there's a tri clinic being run at McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario. What's cool is that there's an option to do a long training day ( the clinic which is geared towards sprint and olympic athletes) which includes a 75 minute swim in the 50-meter pool, 4 to 4.5 hour looped bike and 1.5-2.0 looped run. It's all supported and only costs $50. This is their first year doing this so I'm excited to see how it turns out.

To round out my birthday (I turn 45 on May 6 - I age up this year!) my wife is taking me out for Thai and beer! For a tri geek like myself it doesn't get much better than this.
