I'm making shrimp and tilapia scampi. And probably some broccoli. And we already had the edamame.

I just found out today that edamame and Lima beans were different animals...

Edemame...yum! Lima beans....yuk!

Your taste buds are obviously flawed. Edamame is delicious! Actually so are lima beans, but in a different way.

For dessert, we're having wine.

Is it dinner talk time?

I made this quinoa puntanesca. The combination of crushed tomatoes, kalamata olives, capers, garlic, and white wine is phenomenal. Plus the entire recipe is only 1000 calories. I ate half for dinner, worked out, and haven't gotten hungry yet!

Ok, I'm no chef. Not even a cook. But that looks really, really good. Good enough to make an attempt!

I LOVE puttanesca, but that recipe misses the one critical ingredient. You need to cook and pulverize 3 anchovies in the skillet at the beginning of making the sauce. That gives a nutty, complex flavor you can't get otherwise.

If you're pasta averse like Lisa, cannelloni beans also work nicely as a starch.

Meh any update on the vacation thinking. Morroco might be your ticket if you're into that kind of place. Fez, Marrakech, then a few days at the beach (Agadir)...

Its not the kind of place thats for everybody for sure, but if you're up for someplace a little different, some activity but not over the top, and then a few days on the beach, its not a bad destination.

I'm over the edge; I'm making puttanesca for dinner. Chicken breasts and pasta.

I would probably avoid North Africa for a few months.  It'll be fine next year not around Sept 11th and not around Ramadan or any other pilgrimage time...

Morrocco has been stable forever, but Algeria has been stable since WWII and look what happened there 2 weeks ago.

Go to Spain where gr33n lives.  It's a lot like Morrocco, but with more to do actually.

Yup, I think I'm on that bandwagon, too. Salmon included (and maybe parmesan crusted). The great thing about frigid cold days like this is that I can grocery shop at lunch and just leave the stuff in my car.

In unrelated news, a drunk man apparently decided to have sex with a snowman and now has frostbite on his netherbits: http://96xrocks.com/frostbite-on-penis/
