An example of what I'm forced to train for at the moment:

"To properly guard the nip point of the belt and pulley, the cone belt and pulley must be equipped with a belt shifter. If the belt shifter does not have a frame that completely guards the nip point of the belt and pulley, the nip point must be protected by placing a vertical guard in front of the pulley that extends to at least the top of the largest step of the cone.

 You can guard a belt that is of the endless type or laced with rawhide, and for which a belt shifter is not used, by using a nip point guard placed in front of the cone. This guard must extend at least to the top of the largest step of the cone, and it should be formed in a way that it shows the contour of the cone to provide maximum protection to the nip point of the belt and pulley."
