I hope her T.I.T.S pay off for her. I have always wanted to say that lol

Well, she's fond of her T.I.T.S. -- We all know that! LOL

She's still on the run!

Race Leg -- Distance/Time -- Pace -- Position
TOTAL SWIM -- 1.2 mi. (40:20) -- 2:07/100m -- 1207
TOTAL BIKE -- 56 mi. (4:37:01) -- 12.13 mph -- 1908

Run Yanti, Run!

I feel like I'm rigth there cheering her on! Except with less sun burn. (Is it bad that I'm using Yanti's race to procrastinate on my own training today?)

We should have just planned to all have a group meet up there and been there at the finish line to give our great Leader Yanti a big hug. Would have been tough for me to get away but would have been a great thing to show up for her

The snow didn't stick anywhere but on the plateau where I live!  Here's the scene just a few minutes ago, March 30!!!  I was supposed to possibly to a trail run (if my foot was 100%, it still isn't) which is here in my town, so I don't know how they will do that since you can't see the trails and the snow is falling off the trees in huge clumps right now....a friend is still doing it so she's gonna report back, and I might stop by there to see her finish.  Here's the pic from my kitchen window:

OHHHHH my goodness Leslie!!  That looks awful . . . yuck!  What state are you in?  Apparently somewhere that shouldn't look like that at the very end of March, LOL!  Today's probably the first time we've had nicer weather out here in Nebraska . . . What happened to your foot, I must have missed something?  I know, no way with all my absences! :P  Should be an interesting trail race for those doing it . . . I'll be interested to see how it goes for your friend.  Hope your foot gets better soon!!

I live in the suburbs of Seattle, actually more like the suburbs of Microsoft...in the Cascade foothills (why I complain a lot about hills!!).  We have our own weather up here, and often, like today, we are snowed in while everyone else is bare and dry.  The foot--I have just had some weird pain on top of my left foot when I wear shoes, so I am going to a foot doc tomorrow to check it out--if it's awful, like a stress fracture, it is early on so I won't damage it more. Hopefully it's just nerve irritation from new running shoes and walking a lot in Disneyland combined.  I will keep you all posted!  Any word from Yanti yet??

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't checked back in since my last post, but I've been a little busy. Melissa and I saw Yanti before the race started - she actually saw us first. She was on the way to rack her bike and we were on our way to our volunteer spots so there was only time for quick hugs and goodlucks.

I also got to see her start the cycling portion, but was moved before she headed back and into the run. I didn't get to see her again until long after the race was over and we met for dinner. Each time we saw her though, she was smilling

I'll let her fill you in on her day's events, but I'm sorry to say no pictures. I was really "working" the whole time and didn't get to observe until after my "shift" was over and I was sitting at the finish line waiting on my husband to finish.

I'll tell you one thing though...I'm freakin' motivated to get it done and am signing up for my first race as soon as I can find the link to it!!!

what a pretty view (although............at this time of the year who'd have thunk it???)

actually I remember the winter of 1987 (wow, does that make me sound like an old geezer or what??)

anyway, the last weekend of March, we got over 18 inches of snow - it was all melted and 70 degrees by the following weekend - crazy

So,  not nearly as exciting as completing a big race, but an accomplishment just the same.  I came the closest to meeting my planned training hours this week since I made the big move to PA and started doing all of the commuting

I went to an awesome spinning class this morning and wralked - it feels good to be back!

Awesome! Congratulations, Beth! That is a huge accomplishment. I can't believe how fast you've managed to slip back into regular training. It's *so* easy to slack off when you're going through major life changes (and especially with all that commuting).

I've got a neat accomplishment to report too: I hit 60 miles of running this month! That's the most I've run in a month *ever*. It feels great.

WTG!!!

I have to say that I think the Mentor group and the challenges have really helped me get back in the groove and not just let it all slip away
