Quick Tevor - name a month where you don't have a long weekend..... I didn't think you could

I ran this morning and then rode my bike to work.  As I was stretching in my office, I was bemused by the thought that it was 7:30 and I was stretching for the second time today.

It is supposed to be a nice weekend here, so hopefully some fun activities are in store.  Hope everyone has a nice, safe, active weekend

March & June are the only months we don't have long weekends for 2009.....Keep in mind though that us Canadians work 125% smarter than those who live south of us, therefore our time off equates to the same amount...ROB,ROB,ROB help me out here..Cool
Its great to be Canadian...Hey I may just break my leg this weekend, 'cause its free to fix!!

fattyfatfat - 2009-05-15 7:08 AM Tracy.. I'm trying to figure out how I want to set hydration up my bike.  Looking at your HIM pics....I see you have two bottles w/ fluids behind your seat.   What's in the two bottles on your frame?

nice calendar btw

John, I think you can do 1 of 2 things.  Use your exsisting water bottle cages on your frame, or using the aero design bottle on the aerobars.  But you don't need both for a sprint race.  That is overkill, and extra weight that is unnecessary....

Tony, thanks for putting together the teams.  Should be a lot of fun!!!

For everyone--- Don't let this effect your training.... THIS IS STRICTLY for fun.  You have until the end of the month (I think that is what I read?) to get this done at your own leisure.  Please PM Tony with your results that you like him to log!!!

If you want to do a yahoo spreadsheet that would be great.  This would allow people to look at it on their own time, and keep the thread count down a little (I feel like it is pretty intimidating for people to come in, and see that they are 5 pages behind).   HOWEVER, if this is too much work Tony--- then don't take it on.... I would love help in somewhat, but you got a guy here that can only turn is computer on.... Not much smarts here !! SORRY!

My exciting plans this weekend consist of a run, and OWS today (my wetsuit is dusty!!!)..... Tomorrow I am building a deck the entire day (so no workouts for me AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!), then on Sunday I am running a 1/2 marathon with my sister... It is going to be her 1st 1/2 marathon and I am going to make her break 2 hrs--- that is what little brothers do!  They make their elders angry!!!

Steve.  my bad... I meant for the HIM.  I'll carry one on the frame for sunday's race.
What do you think about the half set-up.  Two on the frame and aero should be good huh.  There are at least two  hand-ups on the course.  Do you go out with one empty cage to put a bottle from the hand-up in?

Yeah John I think the best setup is to fill the aero drink (make w/ Solution---EXTRA STRONG!!!) then at the drink stations add water to your solution to dilute when necessary, and put the other bottle in your empty cage, then come to the next station and repeat process if necessary?!

For my 1/2 I will have 2 bottles of somewhat thicker solution (about 800+ calories in each bottle) and use those the entire bike ride, then switch to water/gu's on the run.... I will maybe take 1 or 2 gu's on the bike, but see how I am feeling.  Along w/ weather, work on your salt intake as well.  I use "thermolytes" and take about 2 every hour (on bike) and 1-2 every 30 minutes on the run....

Havin'Fun - 2009-05-15 7:39 AM Have a great time Suzy.  Anyone else racing or doing something cool this weekend?
We should do a Monday post of everyone that is racing that weekend.

I will be doing my first oly distance race on Sunday.  The water temp supposed to be around 64º.  The pros will race on Saturday and Sara McLarty will be at the race site this afternoon giving an OWS clinic.  Can't wait for that.

I'm "racing" this weekend.  I am doing the Rockwall Sprint tri - 300yd pool, 14mi, 2.9mi.

I put "racing" in quotes because the only one I am competing with is me.  Hoping to not be DFL   Don't have the run training in that I should yet.

Special tri socks - really?  I was thinking of going sans socks in sprints later this year...

Yeah lots of short weeks, how hard is it to make maple syrup, beer, toques and hockey sticks?

Making maple syrup and touques is simple. We buy it from the poor igorant southeners The beer we can't keep up with up here so we need extra long weekends to make more to carry us over, even though we already have the real good beer. As for the hockey sticks. Where would all the teams left in the playoffs be if we didn't make them extra ones to be weilded like weapons and be broken over dumb heads.  Hmmm was that a little heavy?

As Trevor said wees guys up here is lots smarter we even larn how to speach in grade first
