Speaking of dogs and crates.
The other night one of Tom's dogs, who sleep in separate crates at night, decided that she wanted to sleep in the other dog's crate (it's about twice as big). She curls up in the back, and the other one squeezes in there with her and looks at us like OMG what do I do? We laughed and pointed until he just layed down in the crate with the other dog. We closed the door and wondered how long they would sleep togher all squished up like that - ALL NIGHT. Made me laugh!

Why does it annoy you?

It annoyed me when my dogs'd sleep with me cuz it'd totally bust my flava. If we wanted to get freaky deaky I'd have to ask the dogs to leave.

We introduced my dog to a friend's dog a couple weeks ago and now they're in love.  They bring their dog over and they run all over the house and share their toys.

It annoys me, and I don't allow her in the bed (without permission) because she gets really into licking her butt until there is a wet spot in the middle of the bed.  A wet, butt-lick spot... mmmmm.  But I've never crated her.

Yeah my little dog actually sleeps in the bed with me - under the covers! It is also cute and annoying at the same time.
Tom's dogs LOOOOOVE their crates. It's their little safe place. They will go lay down in their crates on their own - with the door open - when we are at home - just because they need some down time.

We experimented once and had them sleep in the bed just for fun but the 60 lb one either wants under the covers (which is hilarious), or he wiggles around the entire night and ends up taking up the WHOLE bed! Plus when he lays on the blanket you can't pull it up without moving him. So they don't sleep on the bed anymore

Edit: and yeah they are both "outside" type of dogs who shed a lot, so there is tons of hair and dirt/grime anywhere they end up. It's nice to contain that to a crate.

Ha our dogs would wait til we would fall asleep then jump on the bed in the middle of the night. Our Aussie/Collie is very nimble and light on his feet so we wouldn't know. But our lab was lumbering and fat and when she'd jump we'd know, but usually we'd just be too tired to care. I'd wake up with a dog on either side of me and the missus would be wayyyy on the other edge of the bed. But you can't resist them. They're so frickin' cute.
