I thought the Bieber chick comment was pretty damn funny, myself.

I don't know enough about him, her, or your overall relationship dynamic to properly answer that question.  My initial feeling is to caution against anything too "big," so as to avoid any perception that you are attempting to buy her off.

But, again, I don't have enough information to even know if that's an issue or not.

Heh. This is the "train wreck" relationship.

He is divorced from her mother. They have joint custody.

He currently lives with his legal partner.

Depending on how the next three years (never mind three weeks) pans out, he'll be moving here and ostensibly with me.

Everybody knows about everybody.

Yeah, definitely something small, but thoughtful.

I've got it. I know exactly what I'm going to get her.

I was thinking something you can get in Bali, or that's Indonesian, that you can't in Australia.

Not only is it inexpensive, but it's cool, and I know where to get the coolest ones, and best of all, it will pizz her dad off.

All the Aussies who come here get singlets (sometimes T-shirts) with the Indonesian beer logo on it (it's called Bintang). I don't know why; it's kind of like Americans used to collect Spuds McKenzie shirts in the '80s.

I can get her a really snazzy Bintang baby-doll tee.

I dont like this being single thing.  I mean technically I have been single for over a year, but we  hadbeen living together and I have been still considering myself her husband and been a full time father, still was hanging on, but she moved out on the weekend and I truly am alone.  Miss my kids and my wife who is not my wife, this really sucks!!

/self pity and depressing thoughts

Separation is terribly, terribly painful, and I've never even done it with kids involved. You're going through grief. Sometimes it takes a long time. Allow yourself that.

On the other hand, also take time to think about what you are grateful for and what you like about yourself. It doesn't change anything, but it helps keep the (necessary) painful thoughts and feelings from swallowing you up.

God Yanti I try to look for the good and make the best of it, I am first and foremost a father, and to not be able to tuck my girls in every night and be there every day for all the little things is killer, but its geting easier, ups and downs... just down right now... gunna pick them up from school in a half an hour and its turning into the longest half hour of the freaking day!!!!

Been there buddy. You will get over your ex, you may think of her time to time just because she was a part of your life but the feelings will fade. The kids part... ya that always sucks. Hope you are doing ok.

And just so you know, I did have a second dream last night Yanti and it was the total opposite of where that first dream was heading last night.

Update time: They found numerous bleeding ulcers in Gramma, possibly something else, more tests today. 

Also, French boys are FUN! Maybe too much fun for a Tuesday night...
