I dunno.  My prospects usually come in bunches.  I haven't figured out if they come when I'm looking/not looking, but they usually come from nowhere I was expecting.  I'm still hanging out with Crossfit chick - I'd say that's going well and I like her quite a bit.  Meanwhile, the chick at the other gym still wants to hang out... she's cute and I kinda like her, but I just really don't have time for juggling.  I don't enjoy it anyway.  To top it off, a platonic friend has been increasingly flirty/wanting my time since I've been dating Crossfit chick.  But she's too embedded/part of my closest circle of friends. The last thing I need is for that to go bad and lose not only a girl but also my social network.  And she keeps talking about moving away this summer...

Free tip, ladies - don't tell me how excited you are to get away forever and then wonder why I'm not in a hurry to start a relationship with you.

I stopped looking for about 3 years.

I've also been single for about 3 years

Ditto! I have to consciously do it. And the prospects I've had I know are not going to work out. I just had a guy accuse me of being too busy, but I'm not going to stop what I like to do unless I have a reason to.I too did kickball and dated a guy for a year till he moved away. now I don't have time for it, the barn is full of single women, and my tri club is all married folks.

Ok so here is a question, age range? How much younger or older before it starts to get... you know creepy and socially awkward?  I mean for some of us (Cord) its always going to be that way but it would be interesting for me to see opinions on this one.

Call this a mini poll I guess?

Creepy or socially awkward for who? For others looking in who cares if you mean for a person I think it's a very individual thing. I know people who only want older, only want younger, have an age window, and some that just don't care and go for whoever might make them happy.

Standard rule is half your age + 7 years = the youngest that isn't creepy.

I'm 42 and a girl at work, who is 26 came on blatantely strong in the Fall.  I must have looked like an idiot like a bigger idiot than usual because I thought someone was playing a prank on me.  Had this been someone I do not work with, it would have been flattering but instead, I found it to be a bit awkward.  I would probably prefer a girl in the 30-45 range over mid-20's but I hate to make such a blanket statement when everyone is different.  The standard rule says 28 is OK <shrug>.

It is probably awkward while dating if you have a mini poll.  uh oh, I probably just proved that I am more suited for someone much younger and immature.

Age isn't a factor.  There are far too many complications in dating to let age be a limiter.

I used to say that, too. But my experience has taught me I need someone no more than 5 years younger than me (I'm 34) - at least at this stage in my life.

Wow, honestly you look like you are in your 20's.  I need to quit guessing.  I have no future in the circus.

Huh..  Okay..  Note to self.  Stop licking women...

My point was your first mouth experience SHOULD NOT be your wet tongue on my forehead.

Yeah.. I'm out due to my excessive licking.

That is kinda what I thought... that means 25 is my lower limit, I couldnt see dating someone younger anyhow... I was thinking late twenties due to maturity level.

Its complicated by the fact that my daughter has told me that even 25 was gross since she hangs out with 24 and 25 year olds from university.  She told me to 'stay in my own decade'... whatever that means!

...also if I work that rule backwards... it would not be creep for me to date a 60 year old? I am 37... that doesnt seem right...

Of foreheads?

I like my men mature (old vines) and aged to perfection.......wait that is my wine.

As long as they can keep up, mentally, physically, financially, and sexually, they have a chance.  Polite and well mannered in public a real PLUS!

I'm 5'7, and I've dated a woman who was 5'10, and from my experience, you're right. There is a lot of interactions in public that just becomes awkward that is only magnified when the woman wears heels, and who doesn't want their woman in heels?

Edit: Now what gets me is when a girl is 5'0-5'2 and won't talk to a guy, unless he is 6'0.  I understand people have a right to ask what they want, but from my end that's really frustrating.

I've never subscribed to dating "rules" but my last relationship of 2 years was with a guy 15 years younger than me.  We got along great, tons in common, personalities and relationship style meshed perfectly .. but after 2 years I realized he wasn't really ready for the next step .. not due to his maturity level but just where he was with his life.  It's cool. So going to young for me risks that happening again.  I closer to death .. so I want to find someone to share my (what's left) life with!

I've never dated or been involved with anyone my age, or within 5 years of my age or older than me ..  I'd like to try that age group for a spin .. but I think guys my age are "old".  LOL!  I don't think I'd go younger than 45 from here on out ...  maybe I should just stick to the cats!

Yes, try everyhing once and twice if your not sure!

I'm 5'11" max so with heels you would be taller than me.  We are now limited to beach dates.  As soon as you go for the heels you will have to kick me to the friend zone or you take advantage of my excessive licking and put me on speed dial for booty calls.  Laughing

I don't really have a thing for tall or short women.  Despite the jokes, I don't really have an obsession for bewbs either.  I just like smart women who love to laugh, have nice legs and are very affectionate.  Outside of that I'm pretty laid back and don't get caught up in too many other requirements.

I don't like him to be able to wear my jeans either or my underwear either.
