. I just registered as well James. Definitely won't count in your USAT ranking, but will be a great venue. Me, you and Marc are all in for this race, anyone else in?

Thinking about it....

You got to do it!  It is the happen race.  No pressure.

All right, I'm signed up!

. Good to see peer pressure still works lol!

It's like high school all over again!  Laughing

Tom,

That sould say.....

I would not adjust anything in the saddle unless the fitter can get some angles.

It was late when i posted that........Foot in mouth

Did you have a questuion.  Maybe sign up for Mont-Tremblant 70.3  Sealed

EDIT:  Got the question.......that’s good.  Adjustment should be done a few cm at a time.  I hope it helps.  Ironman in a few days and making adjustments now is very risky.

Haha. If I knew where I was going to be in August next year I might sign up. If I end up getting into residency out east I would def consider it! Maybe there will be spots left come March 5 next year! Haha. That is if you don't fill up all the spots with your recruiting skills. Haha

tri808 - 2012-09-03 9:42 AM

Tough race today.  It was windy all day and it was raining the first half of the race.  Had a minor crash, had no power once the first attack was made at mile 40 and couldn't hang on to the first group which was just hammering.  Tucked back in with the second group and actually had to do some work instead of sitting in the draft of the first group like I did last year.  3 of us finally broke away, and I promptly flatted.  Got a wheel change after a few minutes, and I was now outside the police envelope, so I was now chasing on my own and got caught at 5 stop lights/signs.  Basically just time trialed the last 28 miles into the wind and ended up catching and passing about half of the group I was with when I flatted.

full RR to come...

Dang. When it rained ... it poured!

Way to persevere.

Considering this...will wait to see how Muskoka goes this weekend - also need to see what my wife thinks about the whole idea.  Realistically don't see this one happening, but it would be fun.

ChrisM - 2012-09-02 11:37 PM Stavros - way to CRUSH your goal!!! I'd be interested to hear what you thought your splits might be and what they actually were, ie where were you stronger that you thought you werent?
Having gone over it a bit more carefully, I realised 6:30 was way too generous, but I didn't think under 6hrs was going to happen. I was expecting:

ExpectingActual

Swim
42mins

Bike
17mph ave. (3hrs20

Run
Was hoping for 2hrs but was expecting
closer to 2hr20

Total = 6hrs15 - 6hrs24

Swim
39:01

Bike
18mph + was only 52miles (2hr52)

Run
Think the run was only 12.6 miles, but still managed
under 9:00/mile

So all in all, some of it was due to being a little faster than I thought I'd manage and some was down to the course being a little short. That said, I reckon that I should have managed about 5:45 if it was the full distance assuming my legs weren't completely finished!

Quick ride with the race set up a short while ago.  My baby is all grown up.    I may remove the bottle cage.

Hi Tom,

beautiful bike

I really don't want to sound like an ST aero fanatic, but I suspect you have some free speed you could get from going lower (properly) in the font. It looks like your drop (top of seat to top of pads) is quite low (maybe an inch). Even a non flexible person should be able to get a lot more than that

Winter is a great time to work this. Just an idea.

Marc - First, I'll take any and all feedback so don't feel like you need to be gentle.    What's funny is I think that as well.  My fitter set me up with a 3.5cm drop from top of seat to elbow pads, but he rated me 9/10 for flexibility.  I've actually removed 2 spacers from the pads since March and got it to 5.5 cm.

I never went back to ask about it so my fault on that one.

I am about -1 / 10 in terms of flexbility and have 14cm of drop. Video from side of you on the trainer would help direct where to go.

How tall are you ? what size is the bike ?

It's a nice bike !! which model is it ? I know little about Felts

I was going to buy a B16 until I found a great deal on the P3 I bought instead.  Great looking bike!

Tom - if you were racing a shorter distance I would say to dump the empty cage.  But for the HIM I'd keep it just in case you need to put an extra bottle in there.  The empty cage won't cost you too much in terms of aero.  Something to consider for the future is an aero bottle in this spot.

Nice looking ride.
