I've just been looking at all the cake in a mug recipes... why do most of them have to be chocolate???  Oh well, I really shouldn't be eating cake anyways.  I think evil gremlins have been sneaking into our condo at night and making my jeans smaller.  The little jerks.

The coffee cake looks awesome!!

There's COFFEE CAKE???  I'd definitely be interested in that!!!  (my waistline wouldn't be interested, but my tummy definitely is)

I WANT TO MAKE THIS!!!

But I have no sour cream, yogurt, or applesauce that I could possibly use as the 'wet' ingredient.  Any suggestions for another substitute?

Hi TAN.

I always use yogurt instead of sour cream in cake recipe. I think it turns out better.

Does it make you gag? Cuz I only have to catch a whiff to remove myself from vicinity. :/

It doesnt make me gag and if it ends up on something I'm eating I can scrape off the bulk of it and still eat said product despite the remnants of said sour cream remaining. However, in the Chipotle instance, I get angry when I see them put it on my burrito within seconds of me saying very loudly `NOOOO SOURRRR CREAAAMMMM!'

FLY by howdy to all.  Just committed to Grandma's Marathon. so now I get to eat more.  Good thing I arrived at the food discussion.

Monica: Grandma's is held in this little city by the lake called Duluth. Think the Chicago crew should make the trip up..I think its only a little over half full.

I think the applesauce for veggie oil is 1:1  Yogurt for SC is 1:1 not sure about Applesauce for SC though, perhaps it is 1.23: 1 for regular and 1.34: 1 for lite SC.

You're so lucky to be a dude.  What is the point of doing triathlon if I still must eat like a bird even with all that exercise? My husband cuts out cola and loses 20 pounds.

All this cake talk is making me crave a Hostess type product.

Probably one of the most disgusting words in the English language.  Ranks right up there with succulent in my book. Eeewww.

But I bet the cake tasted good despite your choice of adjectives. Smile

Hahaha! Not a word I would typically choose...especially in TAN. However, if you can educate me on a more appropriate "cake" term for not soggy or dry, please do so. It was quite tasty, and after, I savored several succulent mandarin oranges to offset the twinge of guilt I experienced.
