I guess I don't see the big deal in pulling out an ID and proving my age. Now it would be annoying if I forgot my ID that day and they refused to serve me. With that said, I NEVER GET CARDED! They can see I'm plenty old. After my botox though... maybe I'll get carded again... HAHAHA! When I was 36 I was carded while at a Mexican restaurant with my mom and dad. I didn't get mad, but my dad did. Prone to exaggeration he said, "Oh come on...give me a break. She's 40!" I was like, "Hey, now." Love how he rounded my age up like that. Anyway, it doesn't happen to me a lot but when it does, or did, I certainly didn't get mad. Also, the signs in the supermarket all warn you that you'll be carded if you look under 35. So, I'd be more upset if I wasn't carded. |

Rudedog55 - 2009-08-28 9:20 AM i turned 40 a week ago tommorrow...i was also carded...when you get out of your 20's, being carded is not an insult but rather amusing regardless of your sex, especially when it is someone you could be the parent of. edit...40 and on TOP!!!! lol My mom, who is nearly 60, has actually been carded when we've all been out to dinner. She's actually gotten mad a couple of times - since she's sitting there with her daughters, who are both in their late 20's, and even if I look 21, that means my mother is still clearly above the drinking age! I understand why I still get carded when I order drinks. I'm less than 10 years over the drinking age, plus I look a little young and you can be fired from your job if you serve alcohol to minors, since the business can lose its liquor license. But the movie thing was just plain insulting, esp. since the girl was maybe 17 at best. That actually happened to my mom. She was 48 at the time. But, she gets carded all the time, so she should have known better. |

I feel your pain but you got it worse than I do. Well not quite yet I have 2 teenage daughters and one is about to have her 16th bday. That brings chills to my spine. Gonna be 40 next month according my birth cert. but my left knee I think is 60 because of football and running injuries. Gonna do my first tri in the spring but have not decided if a sprint or oly. Running and cycling are going great, its the pool thats gonna crush me if anything. Mostly I feel about 25 and can out run or distance both of my daughters and most of the teenage friends they hang with. ahh the young and dumb! |
