Subject: RE: Ironman Canada 2013 : Official ThreadPerhaps this is common knowledge, but as a beginner triathlete I'm just learning everything day by day. Anyway, the athlete guide is a bit inconsistant with respect to wearing of bibs, in one portion it says we must don our bib prior to heading out on the bike course, yet in the 'bike summary' portion it has no mention of bibs and that we just have to have our numbers on the bike / helmet / body.
So I emailed the IMC contact address and heard back within 20 minutes. Apparently bibs are only required on the run, not on the bike (and on the front during the run ). So pack the bib in the T2 bag.
2 weeks from now I'll be landing at YVR then heading north on the Sea to Sky. I've been there skiing many times, but only passed-through town on the highway in the summer, 11 years ago. I can't wait to check things out in the summer, and compete in my first IM. Did a 5hr ride + 3km open-water swim last weekend, and now I'm tapering-down training, and feeling strong and ready. Woohoo!
For anyone who's completed an IM before, what's a piece of advice that you wish you had prior to going into your first IM?
