ChrisM is a strong swimmer; I gotta believe he is having a chip problem.

I am still in shock about Marcy; she worked soooooo freaking hard with Steve so they could do this race together.    Hang in there Marcy and keep your head up; you've got a HUGE base built up to tackle another IM soon.

Looking like a pretty exciting pro race so far. A lot of shuffling on the leader board.

ChrisM has to be having a chip problem!

That suck for Marcy, I can't even imagine how that must feel.

Jones gains more time through 37 miles

RACETIME: 02:39

The women who came out of the water with MICHELLIE JONES (#45) are losing time to the world champ.

Heather Gollnick came out of the water covered in blood -- she must have been bashed somewhere during the swim, but that hasn't stopped her from staying in second place behind Jones.

Tara Norton has now moved into third. Csomor continues to gain time on the women in front of her.

Behind her are:
* HEATHER GOLLNICK (#41) at 3:55
* TARA NORTON (#47) at 5:01
* HILLARY BISCAY (#44) at 5:04
* ERIKA CSOMOR (#53) at 5:07
* TEREZA MACEL (#64) at 5:16

Is anyone communicating with his wife? I am local so if they need anything pmail me and I will give you my cell #. Off to the pool with the kids for a little while. I really hope he is ok. If it is a chip problem wouldn't his T1 time be missing?

Boman is in ninth

RACETIME: 03:00

Ironman Lanzarote champion * TIINA BOMAN (#58) is well back right now at 10:47. Behind her, rounding out the top-10, we have * SIONE JONGSTRA (#63) at 10:54

Michellie flies through 45 miles

RACETIME: 02:54

She's still in front.

The men have long passed that point, but our spotters missed them as the lead vehicles have been taken off the course -- a safety measure since the bike course has now become so busy with all the athletes now riding.

Corbin rides through 37 miles

RACETIME: 02:52

Linsey Corbin was pegged by a few folks as a woman to watch here today. Right now she's just over nine-minutes back in seventh place.

Here are the splits for Corbin and Kozulina through 37 miles.

* LINSEY CORBIN (#49) at 9:20
* TAMARA KOZULINA (#55) at 10:08

Hmmmm...no bike split for Aaron yet, and he should've been only a few minutes behind Jacob.  Hopefully it is just taking a while to update the site.

OK, update from the course. Temps are 80+ at the moment, bright sunshine, and winds in town are 'gusty', which means they'll be steady out on the BeeLine.

Also, didn't get a read on ChrisM yet. I do know that his shoulder was torn up going into the race; i sincerely hope it was the chip vs. something shoulder related. C'mon, bro.

Splits for the lead men at 55 miles

RACETIME: 03:25

JAMES BONNEY (#4) might be in front, but it's not by much.

All of the men in front will have to worry about Beke, who is probably the fastest runner in the top five at this point.

Behind Bonney are:
* RENE GOEHLER (#28) at 2 seconds
* TJ TOLLAKSON (#33) at 43 seconds
* RUTGER BEKE (#1) at 3:42
* LEWIS ELLIOT (#5)
* MASSIMO CIGANA (#31)

A new men's leader

RACETIME: 03:21

Through 55 miles of the bike, JAMES BONNEY (#4) has moved to the front of the race.

Behind him are:
* RENE GOEHLER (#28)
* TJ TOLLAKSON (#33)
* RUTGER BEKE (#1)
* LEWIS ELLIOT (#5)
* MASSIMO CIGANA (#31)

We're waiting on splits for the leaders.
