Member 35 Central Valley - California | Subject: RE: Before and after pictures Still very much "in progress" After coming home from doing Lavaman I knew that if I wanted to continue to do triathlons I needed to drop weight. And so I started working on a weight loss plan the day after we got home from Hawaii (4/4/09). Starting weight (on the right) 240lbs. Current (on the left) 210. Still have a long long way to go, but it feels good to have gotten this far. |

I was a clinical trial participant for the Gastric Bypass in 1999. Lost 106lbs and stopped losing weight. I then started racing triathlon. Lost another 100lbs. Plateaued for several years. Diagnosed with thyroid issues and have slowly begun to lose weight again. 40lbs to go. Impressive work.... Pic #1 was in 2001, Pic #2 was last summer. I got even fatter, and my Driver's license pic was taken at maximum density in 2005. I love nothing more than being asked for ID, turning over my license, then waiting for the inevitable double-take, followed by, "is this really you?" In one case I was asked for a second piece of ID. Very cool. Just how much did that hair actually weigh? |

I had my twins 2 years ago this week and cannot get my stomach back for the life of me. What's your secret? well, the twins are now entering kindergarten so I've had some time. Tons of ab work but not much crunches, instead lots of planks, weighted planks, side planks, stuff with the ball, the ab roller (love that thing!), straight leg sit ups, leg lifts, hanging leg lifts, etc. Go on youtube and search ab exercise and try some of the insane stuff you see == a million times better than crunches. And for some reason I look better from the front. From the side my ab muscles do protrude a bit, and there is some loose skin - it's below my waistline though, at the bikini line -- the skin really sags. I would love to have a tummy tuck someday. Right now I"m feeling disgustingly overweight. I just finished my first year as a teacher after being a stay at home mom for 7 years. My greatest accomplishment for the year is that I'm only 12 pounds heavier than I was in Sept. |
