KEJ - 2008-09-19 7:31 AM I agree...this would be great weather for the race. cool in the am, low humidity.... Keep your fingers crossed!!!! Lake temps are heading down, too.... We're really fired up for the race! Lots o' surprises lined up, too. The good kind of surprises

When you say lake temps are heading down... just how far down? Any realistic shot at being wetsuit legal? Just curious...

Very little chance of it cooling down that much.  Dont forget that the power plant uses the lake for cooling.

On the bright side the fish in the lake have 3 tails, so if you can grab ahold of one you should be able to finish the swim in record time.

I am flying in with my bike. Can anyone tell me if the rental car are on site at the Austin airport or do I need to get a shuttle (which will be a pain lugging my bike)? Thanks.

I believe it is right at the airport - you will have to walk up one level to the garage across the airport.

No shuttle. The parking garage is right across the street and the car rental is on the top (3rd) floor. When you come out of baggage claim, just go across and take the elevator up.

Was out on the bike course all day, working on things...BEAUTIFUL day here. Mid 80's, not a cloud in the sky, and no humidity....

Should I even bring my wetsuit?

I am bringing my wetsuit. In the very unlikely event that it will be wetsuit legal, I will kick myself if I don't have it with me.

To all those who are nervous, you have two things to remember. Endorfun Sports puts on a great event with terrific support, thanks to Keith and many others. My first HIM was in Galveston this past March with Keith and it couldn't have gone smoother.

Second, remember that if you not a little nervous about an event then that probably means you really don't care about it in your heart. Its not you body that is going to take you to the finish line its what is in your heart and mind, and a passionate heart, and desire will take you farther than any training can ever. Its good to be nervous before big events.
