So, tomorrow we are going to lunch as a lab to celebrate someone finishing their master's degree. It's always awkward. My boss always wants to drink way more than we do. It's weird. I'm kind of dreading it.

Not really. He's kind of bipolar, but he's a nice guy. It's just the trying to get everyone to drink even if they don't really want to. Or, we don't want to drink because we have to go back and do work.

At Christmas parties, he's been all about doing shots with us. Just a little strange.

He's not a ton older than us (he's 40, I'm 27), but it's still a little odd given that he's my boss. I guess "adviser" is the technical term, but really it's the same as a boss. He controls the fate of my degree.
