Building a base. Long slow miles. BORING. I have started to throw a few tempo runs and faster segments into my longer runs. But they are only about an hour right now. I think next week I'll start to throw some longer yard sets into my swims as well. I've been working on from for the last couple months. |

Member 41 Neptune Beach, FL | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread Last year I followed the IMKY thread closely but never joined in the fun. I am participating this year because it seems like such a fun group. I can't believe it is already time to start training again. Anyone else gain over double digits LBs in the 4 months after IMKY 2008?? I think I gained 15 and am just getting back into training after a lazy 4 month recovery. It is a little embarrassing but what the hell, my post IM beer was way too enjoyable. That wont happen this year (the beer will but not the long hiatus). Recovery then hitting the pavement. Were there any other light/nervous sleepers kept up by that festival near the Galt House the night before last years race? Anyone know if it is going on again this year? Could help with planning lodging, although the Galt House is hard to pass up. |

I was in the mid 240s up until IMKY 2008 taper....put on about 10lbs during taper. Then put on about 10 lbs/week since then. But it's a new season now so time to get down to race weight (whatever that is). I'd be happy just to get down to my driver's license weight. :-) ~Mike |

Count me in. Starting weight this morning was 188. I'm checking my bodyfat tonight so I'll get back later with a goal weight/bodyfat percentage. Great idea! |

I figure once every two weeks. It's unlikely folks would have a significant weight loss every week. Those of us seeking to lose more are looking at about 0.5-1 lb/week. |

You just won me over by taking the "little guys" on in an overweight thread once and I've had the greatest respect for you ever since. I change my avatar once a month. I get tired of looking at whatever it is after that. |
