Weather was great for training this weekend.  I didn't get any in on Saturday - WAY too busy - but I got out today.

bongiorno TAN.  i had a super weekend.  beautiful weather in va and my mojo is BACK!

my bike is frustrating me.  she's been sitting in a spare bedroom since october and my genius boyfriend put her so that her rear tire was right on top of the heat register.  i'm not sure if that would matter, but i spent all weekend trying and can NOT get that tire up to 120 pounds.  tonight i am going to see if there is a leak or hole in my tube.  grrr.  all i wanted to do was ride this weekend!  at least it's gorgeous all this week too

I can't believe that that amount of heat would cause any damage to your tire/tube.  It's still got to be cooler on top of the register than on the road on a hot summer day.  What stops you from being able to put more air in the tire?

dude i just pump and pump and pump and nothing happens.  front tire was completely flat as well and filled it easily.  it's never on a hot road for 4 months Embarassed rubber degrades with heat exposure, fact of life, just not sure how much is enough.

Will the rear tire hold steady at one psi or does it have a leak in the tube?

Morning kids.

I've had a tube go flat after part of an afternoon in the back seat of my car. During a cold winter, I could see it fubar-ing after sitting atop a heater vent.

My GIS software is testing me today. Already feeling quite stabby this morning...

Once you get used to doing it it will only take a minute or two to replace tires/tubes.

First time I had to do it during a race I blew my spare tube out the side of the tire as I thought that the bead was set - it wasn't.  I'm much better at it now.

Anyone watch the probowl yesterday?  It's sad that that's the last football I'll get to see until the end of summer.

hey since we're already talking about cycling, let's talk swimming too.  i was at the pool this morning, my pool has about 16 lanes and every single lane had someone in it, maybe 6 lanes only had one person, the rest were already sharing.  i just watched for someone to come up for a break and asked him to split the lane with me and it was no big deal, but is it OK to just jump in and start swimming?  some people were doing flip turns and very long sets (which i do when i have my own lane).  how do i butt in if i can't actually say "hey i wanna swim in your lane?"

i'm sure i could find this in tri talk but don't feel like searching.

PS it was my first swim in MONTHS and it was an effortless 800 meters.  i love the pool

I usually wait and ask if I can lane-split. Also, if I see someone waiting and I'm in the middle of a long set, I'll pause and ask if they're looking to lane-split.

Southern hospitality and all...
