Seem to be a lot of "x" in exercise thise days... xfit, P90x, TRX, XTerra...  What is TRX?

I can't remember what it stands for but it is a functional workout for your whole body utilizing a strap that hangs from the ceiling.  Lots of core stabilization stuff.

I hope I'm able to pick up my baby tomorrow.

Sounds kinky!

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that!

One of the benefits of swimming at 6am: no noodle ladies
Sometimes have to swim around lanes walkers

ebshot - 2009-11-02 2:57 PM I found the pool today!   I haven't been to the pool since May???  And boy did my arms feel it.  I only had time for a quick set of 500 meters before I had to run to lunch with my friends.  But it did feel good to get in the water and I need to make sure I get down there once a week.  I have lost a lot of fitness.

YEAH ERICA!!!!! You remembered how to swim!!! LOL

Ummm, barely.  I was pretty beat after my set of 500 though.  I could have used some floaties.

When I got to the pool, it was overrun by noodle ladies.  Ugh.  Their class was ending as we were coming.  After I finished chatting with the lifeguard for a few minutes, I walk into the locker room.  Nothing like a bunch of half naked noodle ladies to greet me after a few months of absence from the pool.

Oh gawd!!!  The visual!!!!

Today I biked to work; had a tangle-up with a transit bus!

I needed to turn right and there was a transit bus in the right turn lane at a bus stop; I waited patiently behind him for the light to turn green (positioned far enough left where he'd be able to see me in his left mirror); when the light changed, he started to go but then stopped; I waited to see what he was doing but when he didn't seem to be doing anything I started to go around him on the left; at that point he decided to pull out and my right bar end scraped along the left side of the bus and then briefly caught on the back corner before he pulled past; my handlebar got jerked so that the left bar end scraped my left knee. Final tally: scraped knee and a broken bar end.

I guess I was STUPID but I got lucky that nothing worse happened!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement.  I'm not in as much pain as yesterday.  My ortho appt isn't until Monday, so I won't know until then.  I just feel so stupid! Of all the things to do and the timing is horrible.  Fortunately my sister stayed over last night to help with the baby and my friend Natalie is spending the day with us.  JJ doesn't have any vacation left or else he'd be home to help.  We've set up the living room so I don't have to move much to take care of Miles.

I was so looking forward to finally training after a few months off.

daisy2908 - 2009-11-02 1:42 PM AAARRRGGGHHH!  So, i went for a run this morning, outside, while JJ was getting ready for work.  Not 1/2 mile from the house, I slipped on a patch of ice fell and heard a crack.  Yup, I broke my ankle.  I have a follow up later this week with an ortho surgeon as I dislocated my ankle and broke my tibia and fibula.

So... I'm going to have to drop out of the challenge.  Or at least adjust my goals after the ortho appt.  I could probably still do some core work or modified yoga or pilates.

I'm just so upset.  Oh, and in quite a bit of pain.

Oh No.....drugs are your friend!!!! Dont worry about the challenge, you can be our team cheerleader and post padder!!!! Hang in there and let us know how you are doing!!!

I would report the driver - if you were passing in the left lane and he pulled into you, he was in the wrong - failed to yield...  BTW - that is one reason I hate mass transit (buses) - they seem to have special rules.  What if I was to stop a complete lane of traffice at rush hour?  I would get a ticket guaranteed...  Here in Dallas, I never see more than a handful of people on the bus anyway - maybe we ought to measure that carbon footprint...

I never should have started to go around since I didn't know what he was doing; also, the buses around here are VERY aggressive when pulling back into traffic and rarely yield for cars. I should have also kept that in mind. Anyway, I didn't think to get any bus info so I have nothing to report. Lesson learned.

I remember how hard it is from last winter!  I did Q1 today too, but on a new bike so don't think I pushed as hard as I should have, getting used to it and all.  Luckily they're short sessions!
