Master 2770 Central Kansas | Subject: RE: Mental Manatee Mentors Part 3--CLOSED Good morning, Northern Hemisphere Peeps! Good afternoon to those of you down under. We had 65 and sprinkling yesterday. Woke up to 30 and snowing. Windy both days 35-45 mph. I am looking forward to the Shammash (? I think I am missing an a in there) race reports. I stalked the results already. I hope Chad is okay. If he is giving out kisses, he must be. Lol Lazy day for us. The pool is closed because of spring break, so I'll ride on the trainer for a while, and if it calms down outside, I'll try to squeeze in a run. I hope everyone has a great day. |

Love the puppy pix Love the kiddo race pix TXJonathon, looking good Yanti, oh dear Yanti... what ARE we going to do with you As for me, I am breaking my streak today. It was a tough call but I heard Salty's logic in my decision. My last few workouts, of all three disciplines, have been lack luster, no energy, no motivation, tough to get through. Yesterday and today my leg muscles were sort of burning I guess. Not really a lactic acid type soreness but more of a burn. I decidesd the body is tired and pushing through two more weeks until my taper was not a good idea, so I made a consious decision to give the legs/body the day off. I had a run scheduled but i'm not concerned about missing that. I knew Salty would shake her head at doing the training just for the sake of keeping the streak, so I broke it. Feels weird not doing a session today. Yep, sounds like you needed a break, TJ. Never pays to push through when you are feeling like that. |

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Mental Manatee Mentors Part 3--CLOSED So yesterday was the 6th anniversary of our first date. We went for a lovely walk, where we saw many eagles--there were Baldies about, but I am not sure if this is an immature Bald or a Golden: We went out for dinner at a Belgian restaurant (I am pre-screening beers for our trip this summer). This was the glass/holder that was designed for the postal carriers who complained that their beers were spilling in their horse drawn carriages... And here is the notice in the restroom: It was a very small restroom, and it was really loud! Hard to kill a 8.5% beer buzz tho'. |

Master 1890 Gig Harbor | Subject: RE: Mental Manatee Mentors Part 3--CLOSED Asalzwed - 2013-03-09 6:59 PM Race was great (for me) big PR. More to come... Skrat had some calf cramping and an maybe some hitch hiking. Beer was consumed. Skrat snuck in a kiss. Pictures were taken etc. Ugggghhh! This race was frustrating. I was on pace to crush my goal and set a new PR by 5 mins. Was running at about a 7:10 pace, with plenty left in the tank. At about mile 4 my calves started getting tight (especially the right one). I suspect it had something to do with the majority of the trail being gravel. I never run on gravel, always run on pavement. I ran through it as much as I could. It got so bad that even after stopping to stretch my calves and massage my right one, I still couldn't walk without a limp. I made the agonizing decision to pull out of the race. I HATED DOING IT... I DON'T LIKE TO QUIT. But then, my day got much better. I hitched a ride from a spectator...and checked out a lot of really hot ladies. On the shuttle back to the start line, I met a lady, tried to get her phone #, but got shot down. LOL Then the best part of my day. Hanging out with Salty and other BT'ers! I really enjoyed meeting you Salty. And.... per Jo's orders (which I didn't mind)..... I gave Salty a kiss! All in all - I had a great day. Can't wait for the next 1/2. |
