I am definitely doing the HIM at Racine, however I am not sure if I should compete in this.  This will be my 2nd or 3rd tri, probably 2nd, and my goal is really to finish and to get through the swim without getting kicked in the face, gut or other body part, LOL!!

but then again, can you make an entry for making it through the transitions while looking like a "disorganized  ... I dont know what I'm doing kind of triathlete".... because I will probably qualify for that specific competition, LOL!!

Aww common you gotta play!  This is my first 1/2 too.  Like Hangloose said this is just fo fun and for some inspirational chatter. If it were serious I wouldn't be in it since I have no idea what my finish time is going to be like at this distance.

Shermbelle - 2007-05-16 9:40 PM  Sub 4:30, SMOKIN!!! Wow, Even though we are in this heated challenge I hope you can do it. That would put you in great shape for getting a slot in Kona at Wisconsin!!

That's exactly how it worked out for one of my training buddies that did Racine with me last year.  He did 4:32 at Racine, 10:30 at IM WI (2nd in our AG !) and got a Kona slot.

I would be lucky to come in at 8 hours but it does not matter when your team has many like Triathletes like

Whizzzzz
Birkierunner
Schmize
Hangloose
Jszat
Running2Far
Jmcelroy
Simply2fab
Triingforsept07
LindaKC
PeterAK

I mean come on I am thinking sub 5 hours for each one. Birkierrunner doing sub 4:30.

Todd - you're exaggerating quite a bit for some of us AND you left Coredump off your list, who really does have a good shot at sub 5 hours.

It's not about time people, it's about attitude.  It's about swagger.  And we got it.  Oh yeah, we got it.  In fact, we're so hip it messes with our aero positions.  Walk the walk, pigfinn, the time will be there!

I've been around the endurance circles long enough to know that "saying" and "doing" are two veeeerrrrrryyyyy different things   You take what the day gives you.

yeah well I had to get to work so I took the list from the top. Your right coredump is not on the list and he is the man. When I first met him I was like. OMG I have to race him. Yeah I know what Steelhead is going through right now. The shear fear and panic of it all. Not knowing if I could even finish or worse Coredump just pass me up while he did "2 loops". I think if I was on team slackers I would just quit right now.

yeah pigfinn. Come on your my big rival for the year. You are doing like almost every race I signed up for. We need you there. ITs about class. Team SOR is all about bringing more people in, having a good time, and winning is just something that happens. Team Slackers are all about driving out the slower people and bring in wringer after wringer. Sure in the end they might beat out company softball team but is it a win if they are all replaced by the New York Yankees?

Does team SOR ever train? It seems all you people do is run worthless smack that nobody understands. Telling us we are a bunch of whiners and quitters and out recruiting wringers? What is that on page 7 of the excuses handbook?

Whoa, be careful Team Steelhead....don't start using up all those big words in your vocabulary too early in the summer.  You'll run out of things to whine about say weeks before the races even arrive.  On second thought, you folks are probably accustomed to peaking too early.

Pigfin is in!  Maybe we need a rookie challenge; so we can all brag about finishing our first HIM.  Pigfin you can do it!!!  But I am SO going to crush you.

We'll take your toast and raise you some Peanut Butter to put on it.  Then again, we'll be able to help Team SOR with your nutrition since we'll all finish ahead of you and we can go back for you.

it's nice to help out the slower athletes.

you know I ran into a steelhead (non BT guy). If he is a typical steelhead guy then its no problem. He was like I do not need to train I got myself a nice new flashy tri bike.

Ahhhhhh, Dan has entered the fray.  Yet another Steelheader we can slap smack around.  Better load up on that Nuun and Recover Ease big boy......you're gonna need it (did anyone mention the drug testing protocol to you yet? )

Who said anything about toast?  And Steelhead isn't even on your race list!   Is the Race Nexus too complicated for you?

It's fun to sit back and watch instead of having to be the instigator troublemaker vocal leader.  You guys are representing TEAM SOR perfectly.  Keep up the good work!

And Pigfinn - rookies are as welcome as the sub 5 hr guys.  It's about fun and you doing your best.  Besides, your rockin' new bike top makes you a star player on the team.

Drug testing???  I'm all natural anabolic...can't you tell.  I guess in all fairness, in order for you guys to even have a chance I should take a nap in T1 and T2.

Race Nexus...whatever....And I'm stealthy like that...goes to input races...

nap in T1....pffff......shoot, Tammy is so tough, she had her triplets in T1 during a half ironman a couple years ago.  Check out her Jess pose....she is one tough dudette (demonstrated by her pride in her road rash  http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=73235&start=1  )
