I know - there aren't any updated results since lap 26 of the run for her, which was last night. Seems like she's probably be done already, based on when that was posted. ARgh!

Well, I figure she started running about 25 hours ago. It took her just short of 25hrs to swim and bike, and we're about 50 hours into it. Last year, Kathy set the course record at about 52hrs.

I don't know if this has been covered (I can't remember), but Gina SHATTERED the female bike record by 3HOURS! That's right. Her 20:18 was 3 HOURS faster than the record set in 2004. In reading last nights standings, it looks like Sergio from Brazil was catching up to her on the run, but barring injury, she was on pace to place 3rd overall and 1st in the women's cat. That's truly amazing.

I have Brett's cell phone number but I don't want to bother him. If it's coming down to the wire, he's gonna be busy keeping Gina going, as she made him promise he would do if it was close.

Go Gina Go!

I can't take much more of this waiting, I have worn out the refresh button keeping pages open all night! I must have opened the "race results" on the ultratri site a thousand times hoping it would be updated. For something to do at 3:30 this morning I registered on this site just in case there was someone else still up to talk to lol. GO GINA!

I'm sure she's been done for a while. Maybe she's passed out on a bed somewhere! Lets hope so.

She rocks!

Just got home after 15 hrs of crewing at the double/triple.... Gina finished at some point while I was sleeping in my car (between 3:20 and 5:20 AM).  Tom and Tony were looking great!! When I left at 7:30 Tony was about to start mile 24 on the run and I think Tom was somewhere around mile 20. Tony is walking for about 5 minutes and then running HARD (for a slow-poke like me) at around 7:30 pace for :30 sec to a minute. Interesting tactic but he is moving fast through the field that is mostly jogging/shuffling/walking. I guess Tony only has one running speed.

It was great getting to hang out with/meet all the BTers. Possum and I counted 18 (including the racers). Many of the other racers were quite jealous of all the pacing going on. And in fact, many of the BT pacers spent lots of time pacing athletes who didn't have any/enough support crew.

All it says is that she finished, but I don't trust those numbers on the run. Something crazy must have happened for both Sergio and Gina to pass Beat. Personally, I doubt that happened.

wow, how very awesome of the BT Jockstrap crew! As someone who is frequently dying on the run, I love a little pace and a pick-up chat for a few strides, it makes it go faster! Well done gang.

I think it is very possible.  It looked like Gina was gainin on Beat and Sergio looked like he was gainng the whole time.  Remember this race takes over 40 hours to complete so anything can happen to one of the competitors.  Beat probably got beat down tired (sorry had to say it) and has either dropped or is resting.

Regardless Gina, it looks like 1st woman and second overall.  I have a suspicion after this she will go completely crazy and go for the Deca.

Congrats Gina!
