Oh good. Got my call rescheduled for Tuesday. Buys me some time.

That's really good because J and I were practicing this morning and our "interview" went off the rails about halfway through.

Her (in fake HR voice): So this role would be the next logical step?

Me: Absolutely. It's like when two people get married and then they are so bored with eachother, they decide to have kids, and then they neglect the kids because they didn't REALLY want them.

Her: Yes, I know the feeling.

Smile Would ya'll say I'm ready?

Substitute "pugs and cats" for kids and you are good to go.

No, no J was buried deep in her HR lady roll, not her real self. Err wait, I sure hope Wink I'll just keep telling myself that

*If not, I hear Yanti needs a wife

Snerk. but I do!

Dog's got a lotta dishes to clean to make up for the deductible on the auto she wrecked ... of course, nobody liked that car, it was haunted, so she really did us a favor.

It coulda turned out more clearly but self-timer did an okay job. As far as composition, though, I think this is my new favorite ever pic in the whole world of me--froggin' hilarious with Lisa Labradog's expression (she ALWAYS looks like she's rolling her eyeballs at me, which she is ... "why do I have to put up with this shyte").

And yes, while my outfit lacks the requisite knee socks and at least 4 different extremely bright and definitely clashing colors, it is really nice to see that I may have developed a muscle or two during IM training.

Speaking of funny things, I heard a rumor that Tina Fey (SWOOOOON) and Donald Glover are writing a TV show together. Also, I heard that Kristin Wiig is going to be on the new Arrested Development.

Ahhh I would be so happy if either one of those things is true.

ME TOO! This is hands down my favorite show ever.

Yes, they are releasing a mini season via Netflix (in May I believe) to preface the release of the MOVIE!

Oh no   Hate to hear those stories. It's big reason why I don't take the baby girl in the trailer unless I can use sidewalk for most of ride...especially during Snowbird season around here.

I've done criminal checks in Colorado (where I lived for 12 years) and Washington (where I live now)... Nothing there.

I did a search on the National Registry for Sex Offenders..... Nothing there.

I lived in Oregon, but their public records are not available online... have to fill out forms and it takes 7-10 days to get them.

Really hoping that someone can do a National Search for me (since I'm sure that's what the Police Department I am applying with does)  I need to know if someone with the same name did some sh*t that is mixed in with my record.  I can't think of anything else it could be.

I'm pretty sure I've sprouted a couple more gray hairs in the last couple of hours.

Don't think there is anything else I can do now... going to go for a run, then I'm going to open a bottle of Chianti I've been wanting to try.

Update - I figured out how to do an Oregon Search...Still says it will take one day.  I will be emailed the results.

In Florida, you can get your criminal history from either the Sheriff's department or the Florida dept of law enforcement . The Sheriff's office way requires a trip to the office, but you will get the results handed to you. The FDLE way can be done on- line. I don't know what the Oregon equivelant to FDLE is, but I'm sure you have a Sheriff's dept ( don't you?), so you could check with them. Also, I know most law enforcement agencies also run credit checks on prospective employees and won't hire someone with poor credit. So, you may want to check your credit report.Good luck.

My credit is not great, but it's not horrible.  Was just approved for a $24,000 auto loan with a decent percentage rate.  I purchased a car 2 weeks ago (only spent $17K of the loan).  My house in Colorado still shows on my credit report as me being liable for the loan, even though the house is no longer in my name.  That was the only issue in my credit report.  My FICO score is in the low 600's.  I'm rebuilding post bankruptcy (discharged over 2 years ago) / divorce.  Maybe it's the bankruptcy.  She made it sound like it was criminal, but she said "I don't know what it's for" a couple of times.  Sounded like she slipped and told me something she wasn't supposed to.

The only thing I can think of is I owe the IRS some taxes from when I owned a business in 2004.  I have never not filed my taxes, and that has been dealt with.  I can't imagine that would be it...but who knows.

All I know is that in the application process they listed the things that would automatically disqualify you, and I had no issues with any of them.

I hate that any prospective employer could use credit as a basis for not hiring.  What does that have to do with my ability to show up on time and perform a job?

I also hate that auto insurance companies can use credit as a factor in determining risk.  I have no tickets or accidents in over 10 years and yet because my credit is not perfect, they can charge me more than someone that has better credit.  Ridiculous.

Would your ex have done anything stoopid?

No - we have a very good relationship.  I have a funny story about that, but I'll tell it another day.

On one hand, I am hoping it is a mix up with a different Chad with the same last name.  I know there is a guy with the same name that murdered his father in North Carolina...but since they search with D.O.B. and SSN - that should never come up.

On the other hand, I hope it's something as simple as they don't like my credit history....

So confusing, but overall I hope it's a mistake with criminal records or something, because I really want this job.  I can fix criminal record mix ups, whereas there is nothing I can do about past credit history.

I see this as a "career" opportunity, not just another job, and I know I would be good at it so whatever it is, I hope they at least give me an interview.

We shall see.  I'll call the HR lady on Monday and I'll post an update.

Craziness! Hope things get sorted out so that, if this interview is past salvaging, you at least can head it off next time you apply for a position.

Heya manatees!  I had PT this morning.  My therapist found a muscle knot on the top of my illiac crest.  We're working on helping my core get stronger and my back, which seems to also be helping my hip.  She makes me work way too hard!  My hamstrings are so sore.

Think I'm going to back off from running for a few weeks.  I biked on the stationary bike today during PT and didn't aggravate my hip at all.  So maybe biking and yoga for awhile?  I'd swim, but that would require paying for a pool and I don't want to do that quite yet.

Jen, I really hope that your body heals up, you have been working through some challenges lately. I have found that stretching really helps me, as does rolling my muscles with a ball, and I have some yoga like stuff thrown in as well. But watching me do yoga is like watching a moose swim. The job gets done, but it ain't pretty!

hehehe...I was always impressed with the 2-3 guys who would come to the yoga classes with their wives. They just gritted it out

Did she have a doggy cake? And she may not be wee anymore, but she'll always be your baby.  At least that's what my mom tells me.
