Wow, that doesn't seem like a very good T1. Glad she ended up happy with her race. She did a really good job, and JD was talking about all the penalties they should have had out there today, but that were no USAT officials. It's a shame. I still don't think I'll do that race again.

I don't know that I would do it again either, though I had a lot of fun traveling with the club. I almost got lost a few times on the run course.  I was seriously alone on a wooded hiking trail for minutes on end - it was creepy.  I'm glad JD agrees with me on the penalties (there isn't a single one listed in the race results).  But I've had a beer, tea, and toast, so I'm feeling pretty good now.

Now I'm not surprised that they didn't take me up on my offer to carry a USAT official on my motorcycle (I emailed them when I thought I was doing the Oly in Texas and wouldn't be able to do this one).  No USAT officials means no need.  To bad too, because that can really ruin a race.

I didn't do much this weekend.  Ran, napped, and did house stuff like grocery shopping and cleaning.  I'm still really tired.  And my throat decided to be sore again today.

Morning.  One of the nice things about races is that I normally sleep the whole night through after them, which is a rarity.

Morning TAN. I am back from retreat. It was lots of fun and I do not want to be back at work. We were down in Harrisonburg, in the Shenandoah. The retreat center grounds are set up for camping as well (in the back), so some of us did that - it was also cheaper to do so. Good times all around - lots of new people, since I haven't actually been to Kairos (the young adults service) since the end of February. The talks were good, I had a good discussion group, the food was way better than the retreat place we went in the winter. We had good weather and a group of us went hiking on Saturday afternoon in the mountains nearby to this cool waterfall. Dance party was awesome and I have now claimed the title of queen of dance party from backstabbing former-friend who moved to Cali And I got a massage on Friday afternoon before I went down there, so was feeling very good in general - my back and shoulders were sooooo messed up before the massage. Wish I could afford them more often.

"You can't keep a man" friend?  =)

Morning, TAN.

Haha, no, different girl. For the record, folks - there are only 2 girls to date with whom I have actually consciously "stopped" being friends with - I don't think this is a testament to my being able to keep friends - I have plenty of other friends. The "can't keep a man" friend ditched me back in 2005 (which was probably good, anyway) - and she was in no way related to this other girl. Other girl, I ended the friendship, and that was way more recent - we weren't BFFs or anything, anyway, but had become pretty close due to certain circumstances - and she later used those circumstances against me. So that was the end of that. And then she moved.

And now I need to conserve my posts. There are still days left in September...

That seems like too big of a challenge.  Personally, I wouldn't bother, but I can understand wanting to.

New roadie is almost complete. Gotta get the cables run and a cassette and we're good to go for my mountain ride this weekend.

My knee is frickin' sore.

Morning TAN..  Truth be told I'm feeling PMS-ey this morning..  My boobs are sore and my back hurts..  But I didn't have any fun that would earn me sore boobies and an aching back..

Want them massaged? I mean, your back muscles, of course.

mr2tony - 2008-09-22 6:41 AM Hi TAN. I'm hungry.

You should go to a State or County Fair..  You too can pay $22 for the worlds worst burger that will give you food poisoning..

And $150 for an inflateable hammer and a stuffed animal?

Morning TAN...coming to grips with the fact that I won't find another race this year to get over the DNF from yesterday.  But I did put a new tube in my front tire, rode it for an hour last night, and it's still holding air this morning.  I think I had missed the edge of a spoke hole with the rim tape and the tube was getting into it just enough to get pinched (when I inflated it to the 115psi it said it wanted).  So now I've re-done the rim tape and decided that ~100psi will just have to do.
