So following the flipper tracks of our fearless leader... I haven't started to pack yet Innocent

As we "speak" my niece is on her way here from Dallas. I'll pick her (and DH) up at the airport (he works there) and we'll tour Santa Fe for a little while. Then we'll head home so we can pack, drop off the dogs, go to a birthday party (oh crap I need to bake a cake), pick up a trailer and load the car. whew! Tongue out

Headed out at 0700 tomorrow!

Is not packing until last minute a Manatee thing? Sheesh!

How long of a drive is it?

Not this manatee.  I'm too OCD for that My husband, though, totally.  He stresses me out.

Are we cousins married to cousins?Surprised  I pack for two kids and myself...two days prior to trip. DH packs 20 min before leaving for a week, thinking, "If I don't have it, I can buy it." I think, "If I already have it, why should I need to buy it?"

LOL - I pack right before leaving...if I'm missing something to wear, I've been known to grab the dirty clothes hamper and throw it in the trunk.  Why not?  All my favorite clothes are in there anyways.

I have shown up at my sisters and said "I need to do laundry".. she almost expects it now.  In exchange for the use of her Washer / Dryer - I will do hers also.. LOL

On longer trips - requiring plane travel - I do pack the night before (usually)

Oh my forkin' g! My sis took me to lunch for my early bday and this was one of the things we had:

Deep fried balls of peanut butter with a dollop of jam and a tiny glass of milk.

I always buy toiletries etc when I get to my destination and I leave them there.  Same with swimwear, just buy it there, always a better choice in a resort.

I'm a last minute but organised packer, I write a list - hey my job title is planner, it stands to reason.

Peanuts protein, jam fruit.  Milk calcium.  Lots of food groups covered off right there.

Hey, Mr. Fox...Because of your two swimming posts last night, I pushed myself to get in the pool for a short swim tonight. The lanes were full when I got to the gym, so I had to change out of suit for an hour until they cleared. Then it was getting late and I really didn't feel like changing again, but DH said lanes were open. Soooo...I remembered those Olympians, resuited and got in for 20min. Glad I did! DH watched my last 50 and said my form is MUCH improved from last time he watched. I'm still not fast, but at least something is better. Woohoo Laughing

Don't know yet. They might, but there's only one outlet so far, so maybe just to the immediate area. Guaranteed as it catches fire they WILL have delivery

I just went Kirsten something about that this morning.  My aunt had a very good experience with Chi Running.  After training for several marathons, always ending in injury, she started using Chi Running and successfully completed NYC on her 60th birthday.  God Aunt Pat!

I read the book and found it to be inspiring but felt like I needed lessons or coaching or something to implement it myself.  I haven't gone back and looked at it in a while.  Since I had a good data point on using it for injury prevention, I mentioned it to Kirsten.

I think y'all just confirmed what I was thinking my self. After Galveston I will be firing my coach. Just not the best fit for me.

I don't need anyone pushing me to do more volume, I need someone telling me to back off some before I get hurt

I think that it's great having a coach.  It keeps me organized and pointed in the right direction.  It keeps me from signing up for races/rides willy nilly.  It focuses my training and forces me to prioritize. (it also helps me to work around my schedule)

That being said, it has to be the right coach for you.  I think that you are correct, this particular has not been the best fit for you.
