So apparently HITS is a bit sticker crazy...

Bib, helmet, bike, wrist, SWIM CAP, transition bag and a couple extras. And the body marking is a temporary tattoo.

But do you think the tune up has to be at an organized run vs running that distance on your own at race pace?

Yes

Just checking in--It was the MUDDIEST mud run EVER for me this morning--and a bonus, as it was held at a ranch that sells produce. It was kind of slim pickings overall, but I managed to snag 2 bags of green beans, 1 bag of Bing Cherries (just in season! NOM!), and some Kettle Korn--great post race snack!
I just got all my tri racing gear together, and now will be off to set up my T2 for tomorrow--They have separate transitions-but allow us to set up our bike-to-run the day before--lots less stress.

Pictures coming right? Can not make that statement otherwise.

First long ride in a long time today. And certainly did not make it an easy one. Definitely needed to get out as that was fun.

Yes

When you have a moment, would you elaborate on why you strongly support them? I am just curious to the different opinions on the subject since II have never done this distance.

I am number 524. I did a short swim in the lake this afternoon. Very choppy, but fun and the temp was perfect. Tornados near home today, but nothing here so far. It's supposed to be a busy weather day tomorrow, so I hope it holds off until noon..

Surely with all your hands, you have somewhere to put them all! Where did you order it from, I'm thinking of doing the same...

drum roll please.

I went out on the road with bike shoes and pedals etc. As Andrew posted on Facebook good job Jojo with your big girl pedals.

Never even wobbled to fall but I did cheat. At stop lights unclipped both sides and slammed feet down! hehe! I will master this one day but right now that got me there and back. Not very safe but hey I'm on a bike right?

Because first, a lot like people's advice on training with groups (masters, group rides etc) you can only push yourself so hard. It's the people that push you a little harder than you think you can go. Second, the race environment can really only be simulated by well, a race. It's only then when everything comes together (nutrition, hydration, race pace, nerves, race strategy etc.) then you can get a true evaluation (which is what tune ups are all about)
