I read your race report - well done! But, I do have one question; why are there goat heads in sante fe fields? Seems like that would be a disturbing site No, really, what are goat heads?

I wondered if I should clarify that for non-desert dwellers.  It is a thorn with 3 or more pokers on it. aka "puncturevine" (aptly named)

Ouch.

My dog gets them in her paws regularly when we run. Sometimes she pulled them out sometimes she waits for me to do it,

They are of the devil. They haunt my husband's dreams. They are what keep us from running around in our lawn in our bare feet like sane people.

Saturday - 10km run was sooooo beautiful out there, ran into a girl from squad and we organised to meet Sunday.

Saturday afternoon - 2.8k at squad - drill drill drill, one arm this, otter scull that, fist the other - outta control.

Too much wine consumption Saturday night, Sunday morning breakfast with the girls - then home then out for coffee with swim squad girls then grocery shopping - laundry inbetween all of that and dye one's grey hair!

Supposed to do a couple of hours on the drainer - MEH NOT HAPPENING, ran out of motivaton.  Means an extra session this week - Tuesday morning, Weds night, Thurs Morn, Friday night - all drainers of at least 45mins.  JFDI.

Had a great day today. Celebrated my sons 22nd birthday. Met him at our local country park with his french girlfriend and our other son. DW and daughter also there. Big BBQ followed by football and bike rides, including the first outing on our newly aquired TANDEM!!! Lots of fun in the sunshine.

Race in the Fe

Sorry no pix...

Nice race report, sounds like a fun day - never done a reverse tri nor a tri in the pool - always seem to be in the choppy filthy ocean!

Well done, can't wait for tri season to get back here in Melbourne!

How can you be English and not know that one - Just effing Do It - it's the Nike slogan really Romford style.

How's the weather over there?  My family have all been out watching the torch relay in Romford - surprised it didn't get stolen.

I am so excited about the Olympics - gonna be a blast.  Got three friends currently in Dover waiting for a good slot to swim the Channel too - so a big few weeks of UK watching!

Big congratulatins to Bradley Wiggins!  Awesome stuff, nice being a UK Aussie - could cheer for Cadel but also for Bradley!

Monday has rolled around super fast again - first training day of the week.  Swim squad tonight 1.30 then I need to do an hour run - either lunchtime today or tomorrow, will take running gear to work and see how I feel, I think sometimes it's best to get it out of the way earlier!

OOf, talk about too much wine consumption - I indulged immensly last night, which means my 18 mile ride today fell to the wayside.  Laid in bed for a few hours not falling back asleep, got up and went to polo match (I haven't been in about 15 years!) at a fancy schmancy country club with a friend, then my fave pizza place - onion and garlic, thin crust, ate the whole thing myself, word.  Yesterday was riding (did not get up and run, either. oops)  Fell off a pony, oops. Shoulder hurting today even thought it felt like my meaty thigh took the brunt of the fall.  THen took my sister in law for her first wine tasting at a local vineyard, fun!! Then to my stepmom's to begin said overindulging with stepmom, stepbrother and his fiance.  Great night, lots of chatting, singing disney songs and Rolling Stones, then some missing dad.  A little bittersweet.  Overall, a lovely weekend, plus we had amazing weather here in Mass. 80, dry and sunny with a light breeze Cool

Well on Friday afternoon at work I was jealous that Allen had started Friday night already over in the UK, but now I"m happy to be in the U.S. savoring the last hours of my weekend. Boooo Mondays!

Keep rockin that trying training, Ms. Jo! (edited a good 12 hours later....didn't make much sense the way it was)

I am on the edge of my seat - sadly I am a HUGE Nickelback fan and tickets go on sale to fan club members for their melbourne show in about 2 hours, I'm all logged in and ready to go - this is like trying to get into IM Melbourne all over again!  (some would say the experience will be as painful!)

I am feeling better now - hangover all gone, and am eating nice and healthily today trying to cleanse my body a little!

It's turned out to be a beautiful day here - 16 degrees celsius and sunshine, cannot wait for my run.

Chad Kroeger used to live about 20 minutes from me...not sure if since he and his wife broke up if they still live there.

I am exhausted.  I spent about 5 hours painting our shed.  Ugh.  The weather was perfect though, sunny and 70's.  I wanted to ride the trainer today but there is no way I am doing that now.

I have a run on tap for tomorrow morning and it's my weekly weigh in day.  I hope to see the scale moving downward.

Allen, sounds like a great day. Glad you had fun with the fam.

Brie, sorry about your head...

My training today was a reverse du so that I could get my butt into Paris for the challenge.  Run was a tempo.  Feeling good 7 days out

WOW!  Don't know what it is about that guy!  He is actually very funny, a comic genius on stage!  And they give out free drinks, can't pass up that kind of thing...

I love Nickleback -- my 16 year old teases me bitterly about it. He hates them. But I love their sound. Good luck with the tickets!

Tickets acquired - no VIP packages available as yet....when and if they are released I'll be upgrading   Just been out for a run 6.4km in 38mins, not fast, not slow but just glorious.  i wasn't going to go, wimping out, but I thought of everyone on here and said HTFU and get out there!
