I posted this in my blog but I will post it here too. Here is a picture of the hard core cycling I have been doing Wink It was my brother's birthday so we did a "booze cruise" along the board walk at Pacific Beach getting beers and tacos along the way while dressed in baseball t's and silly socks. SO many tourists took pictures of it I think I qualify as a freelance sock model by now.

Thanks, gang, for all your thoughts and input as to what to wear for my race Sunday.  The rain with the cold is just such a curveball that I am still not quite sure how I'm going to deal with it.  I really liked the toe warmer idea, as well as SmartWools and will do both.  And I'm glad numerous people mentioned the jacket conundrum: waterproof will keep me dry but won't breathe; not waterproof will just get wet and make me colder, heavier and miserable.  I guess I will go with arm warmers and maybe a vest (vest isn't an official biking vest, it's my running jacket without sleeves.  I think it's waterproof, not sure).  Have a 2nd pair of arm warmers dry for the run if I think I want/need them, and possibly a 2nd pair of socks(?).

I'll still keep a positive outlook that maybe all this worrying is for naught, that the rain will happen later in the day and all I will need to be concerned about is the 'high' of 52.  Keeps dropping, LOL!

Our forecast keeps getting cooler. We now have a freeze warning in place for Sunday. It sounds like you have a plan in place for dealing with it. Good luck!

Here's my fishie tattoo!

tattoo

LOVE IT!! I'm just catchin up, so forgive me if I missed this or havent read it yet, but can you share the story behind your tattoo? Why/when did you get it? What does it mean to you?  I love it AND the placement of it!

Now, I'm just catching up!

I love traditional Japanese-style tattoos, so I've always wanted a koi.  I'd been planning to get a strand of DNA on my foot to celebrate my PhD, but the design didn't work so well on my foot.  Too linear for the space.  So, we decided to do the koi instead.  The DNA will go down my ribs and side when we are sure we are done having kids.  No sense getting a tattoo in a space I know will stretch out.

My big decision is whether to get it colored in or not.  I'd originally been planning to get the fish orange, but I really love it the way it is.

Alright, you are correct. But, for the record I am the LEAST trouble-making sibling and have never been arrested. That's a fact!

Wow go all you racing MANATEES!

I spent 5 hours at the hair salon yesterday - officially straightened for a few months at least!  So worth it!

DH is at the hospital right now having a gastroscopy (?) dropped him off at 7.45 got to go back at 10.30.  Took Artemis out for breakfast - yay for grilled cheese (toastie to us Brits)

Shopped up a storm yesterday - bought Artemis dresses, skirts, blouses, shoes lots of stuff, bought plates etc and glasses for us coz ours are nearly 20 years old and looking a little shabby as well as mismatched!

No training this weekend due to hair - can't get wet/sweaty nor be in a pony tail until Tuesday.  I'll be going crazy!

Today will make Brownies with Artemis, clean the house etc while DH is on the couch snoozing no doubt!

Feeling good the past few days - someone said somethng nice to me and it meant something and made me happy...faith in human nature people!

Well I've set my bike in transition and am waiting in the car for the sun to come up. It is 27 degrees right now. They've offered a no swim portion with no awards.
