HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Meh - I don't usually do any resolutions for new years, that way I don't disappoint myself.

One of mine is to finally make some of the reciepes I see in runners world magazine or triathlete magazine when they have them. I am always trying to eat healthy but I hardly ever change our "menu" options. So we are going to actively try to make those reciepes.

Maybe TMI.

  • Workout - And this year it's a REAL resolution since I didn't train all last year.
  • Eat better (Just to go with the training)
  • Have more sex (at least try and keep up with the wife's appetite for it).
  • Short term goal is to clean house and get rid of junk that built up.

i'm not a true resolutioner, but i like setting goals and tracking progress to them, so this is always a good time of year to get new ideas.

Honestly, I don't know.  I'm scared it won't come.  I selected a 16 week training plan for a race in April, but haven't signed up for it.  Thankfully my first week of training was in the Colorado Rockies, so it was FANTASTIC to run in beautiful scenery and at altitude.

I sort of have a "just gotta do it" right now.  I was struggling to get to the gym yesterday, so ended up setting up the Tri bike on the trainer and got an hour in while watching TV.  Going to sign up for a masters clinic and OWS training plan with SwimLasVegas.com that my coworker co-manages.

I think the biggest motivation is I'm as heavy now as I have ever been and really upset about it (hence the "just do it" mentality).  The same coworker says I don't LOOK fat, which is good, but I definitely feel soft and heavy and could easily lose 30lbs...

Oh yeah, the wife is a pack rat too.  I was looking for some of my watches (a whole different story) and opened a drawer and it had about 40 pairs of sunglasses.  Not GOOD sunglasses, but the cheapest and most ridiculous sunglasses.  More like gag glasses like this.  The whole house if full of random stuff like that.  It drives me crazy.

I'm not a pack rat, but I like to keep things that may be useful later.

Now I live in an incredibly tiny 1 bedroom, and in June, I'll be living out of essentially a hotel room.

I think a purge is in order. I just need to find a day when I'm not feeling mildly sentimental.

It's always a bit painful.  BUT, if you haven't looked at it for years, then maybe it's not that important.  It's like taking band-aid off - just be quick.

PLUS, you might be able to find "treasures"!  I found a super nice Denver Bronco watch that my wife gave to me years ago that got stashed away and forgotten.  It was like getting a Christmas present TWICE!  FOUND

It's fun to wear it during the playoffs.

I also keep finding nice clothes that my wife moved/stashed to make room for her stuff.  I'm often saying "I didn't know I had this" when I find something buried in a box or the bottom of a closet/drawer.  So I want to take everything out, figure out if I want it or not, get rid of the junk and make the good stuff accessible.

I am no pack rat, but more of a "too lazy to throw things out" type of person. When I move, or get the urge to clean a closet or something, most of it goes in the trash.

Haha - since I'm working at a casual place now, ALL of my work-type clothes are in a trash bag in my storage loft above the kitchen. It'll be like Christmas when I open that big bag up sometime.

I'm here!! Got to work a little later than planned. Swim + run + cold smoothie = I was FREEZING and crawled back into bed to warm up.

I'm at my desk with hot tea now... and still a LITTLE cold...

DO.NOT.LIKE!!!  This is exactly why we're going to be moving someplace that doesn't have winter within a couple of years.  If only we could win the mega powerball lottery thing and then just buy and island somewhere... but in lieu of that pipe dream, just somewhere SOUTH.

And the cold weather doesn't hit until this weekend.  It was only -6 this morning without the wind chill and we are supposed to hit -15 on Sunday night with wind chills -30 or worse.  Can't wait!!!!  ARGGHHHHHH!!!!!
