I was at Copolla in 2007 with 12 others as part of a motorcycle trip and after doing the tour and buying a couple of bottles of wine, we walked outside to the cafe area to see the man himself sitting there.  He was busy talking to someone, but took the time to say hello and ask what the heck we were doing visiting a winery on motorcycles as we couldn't TASTE any of his wines!  We told him that was why we bought some so that we could imbibe back at the hotel - he just smiled and said that would do.

Indeed it does.  And it is delicious to a point.  Veggies, eggs, meat and fruit.  Only so many ways to make all that taste good over and over without being able to add anything to it.  I am eating a salad for breakfast.

I made the most awesome white fish(EVO/dill/lemon) and asparagus last night.  I ate it on a salad for lunch/brunch today.

Remember when you are in SF you will likely need some warmer clothes. Sounds like you have plenty of winery recommendations but if you do head to Sonoma I like Benziger which is just north of Sonoma itself.

We're hoping for good weather this weekend as we'll be out on the SF Bay on an 80ft schooner watching the moon rise on Sat evening. Should be fun!

Subject: RE: TAN #182: Summer's fading, break out the TANkinis for the last time!

I have worked on knowing how much food I need to maintain weight.  It is not much food.  I eat oatmeal with raisins, nuts, and yogurt with OJ for breakfast.  A sandwich and two fruits for lunch.  meat and two vegetables for supper (and then a little wine).  These are in small portions. total calories per day on the order of 1500.  No sugary drinks, no snacks.  I hold pretty steady with that amount.  If I run for 35-40 minutes per day also, then I lose about 3/4 lb per week with this routine.

It is hard to get enough micro nutrients with the amount of food I eat for weight control.  I need to increase the exercise just to be able to eat a balanced diet.

All is well, continue to date.  Finally after a year of dating, we are starting to talk about the "bigger picture stuff".  Seeing him 2 days a week and one weekend a month for travel.  Going to Napa valley next weekend, bucket list item for me.

You gotta go to Rutherford Grill!  Do not leave until you have gone!

i feel like (depending on your definition of small portions) there is no way that is 1500 calories, and i would be SO hungry eating only that in a day!!

Or even The French Laundry - although you will be incredibly lucky to get a table now for this weekend.

If going to Napa, I STRONGLY suggest the V. Sattui Winery.  Probably my favorite one there.  Beautiful grounds/picnic area, grab some french food from their deli/marketplace, a bottle of red and kill a couple hours.  Fantastic time.
