Greetings Peeps.  I've been awol the last few days. I did NOT enter witness protection, nor did I (as my oh so funny neighbor is telling the 'hood) get admitted to a fancy, private rehab program down south somewhere. Seriously he did.  I got several e-mails offering support.  Maybe I should be careful with the wine bottles in the recycle bin.  It was plain, old fashioned work chaos.  16+ hours a day for the last 3.  So for the remaining 8 hours that were not consumed with commuting, showering etc, I made the choice between sleep and workouts.  Sleep won hands down.  But today was great.  I slept rather late.  Had a relatively straightforward day in the office.  Left at a decent hour....And got a nice sweaty session done on the bike followed by some kettlebells.  Now am going to have dinner and a glass of vino. Rehab be danmed.

Night all.  Will try to catch up on the reading tomorrow.

I missed these on my list earlier but both are on the run playlist and I have seen them both in concert.  Good choices!

Theory of a Deadman / Adelitas Way / Halestorm concert is Feb 6th - I have not seen 2 of the 3 before.

Nicole83 - 2010-01-28 3:19 PM Thanks for all the band suggestions everyone!

And Emma, these are two of my absolute favortes too.  I've actually seen them both in concert at least twice.

Emmanem - 2010-01-28 12:50 PM Breaking Benjamin- my absolute favorite group, three days grace is good too but they kind of got over played on the radio a couple years ago.

Nicole83 - 2010-01-28 9:11 AM I'm a total music junkie and really like new bands, or music that isn't really played on the popular music stations.

I'm sick of pretty much everything I have on my ipod.

Anyone have any suggestions of anything new that I might like?

I typically listen to a lot of alternative or hard rock stuff.

I realize this doesn't technically have anything to do with training, but I love when I get fun new music to run to.

It's FRRRIIIDDDAYYYYYYY!

I'm thrilled.

I've also be a monsterous slacker this week but I can't really find it in myself to care.

Can we say Nicole is in a funk?  Yes, yes she is.

But I'm so excited about the weekend I might pop.

If the weather holds tomorrow I have plans for a nice long run on my favorite backwoods path.

Anyone have anything exciting going on?

My favorite album is Saturate, favorite songs are "Wish I may" and "Home."  They're lesser known, but totally worth the listen!

I'm taking the plunge, I signed up for a month of Bikram yoga classes.  The great thing about it is it's only a block away from my apt..  I can go up to 2 times a day for a month and it was only $59 through a special promo.

BTW Kelli and others in the NYC tri-state.  Groupon.com has great deals around the city at huge discounts..

Happy Friday Everyone!

It was an early one for me...up at 4 am and on the trainer by 4:15.  This was my very first workout on the trainer...thank you to Stan for a great trainer...and it was not so bad.  I did a 45' easy spin while I watched the news and caught up on the current evernts.  I am going to know the early hours of the morning really well in the weeks to come.  The HIM training plan begins on Sunday and there are lots of two-a-days.  That means getting the first one in before school starts at 7:40 am and then doing the second one when we get home in the afternoon.  I will let you know how that is working out next week.

Nicole - I hope you are able to run your favorite trail today...being in a funk stinks!

Justine - if you ride the Lonestar course let us know how that goes and have fun.

Huge fan of Groupon!

Happy Friday everyone!   Half day for me today, so one 1 hour left to go

I had never heard of Groupon and now twice in one day!

I wish I could do Bikrim - there are only 2 studios in town and both are pretty far for me not to mention the cost!  One of my very good friends is a Bikrim instructor but the place she teaches is like $200 per month!  Yikes!

Looking forward to the weekend - have some fun planned for Saturday evening and hoping for a OWS Sunday.

Really not digging the weather in Houston today - windy, rainy and chilly.  Might be hitting the dreadmill.

Dang!  I'm such an idiot!  I've been getting these "groupon" emails for months, and never even glanced at the subject line.  I get so much crap email in that account that I ignore it unless I know the sender.  Kelli's post made the light in my head go on (first time in a while, I think), and I checked it out.  I guess I had signed up for it a long time ago and forgot. Tons of great discounts.  There's even one for coffee and/or beer!

I second, third, or whatever number we are on for happy Friday!

I've never heard of groupon either...might be something I have to look into.

I will be out of town until late Monday night so I'm hoping to get in some workouts still.  The girls will appreciate this - I am going to take bridal portraits in BR and spending some quality time with mom and sister.  YIPPEE!

What's everyone else got on tap for the weekend?

I just went to Groupon.com - is there only one deal per day?  Maybe it's not a big deal here in Houston and there isn't even one per day.  For instance the recent deals were days/weeks ago and honestly none of them would work for us.  I guess they assume people don't have kids.
I was hoping for family deals but it all seems to be couple activities.

Love Groupon and Bikram both.  Wish I wasn't in Jersey....$59 is a great deal.  I have a studio across the street from my office though and plan to start back in February.
