Leaving for vacation today.  Going to Shreveport, LA to spend Mardi Gras with the family.  Better yet no kids or husband for the next 5 days.

Will still be running (taking shorts and garmin) just not sure how often will get it logged.

Everyone have a great weekend.  Be safe and injury free with your training.

Lynne - Fly safe and enjoy your vacation.  (Pinch those wee cheeks)

2nd ride with team this morning. There were only 5 of us. Rode out over the causeway and met in the Miami Seaquarium parking lot for drills. Cornering practice, spin-ups, and ILTs all in big and small ring. I love drills.

Doctor at 10:00. Please let me run!

McFuzz..the marine corps...I've heard that's a GREAT one. YAY!

Good luck recovering officer, the people need you back!

Enjoy the vacation Ms. Mardi Gras!

Hi ho hi ho....

Just registered for Marine Corp Marathon!  (October 30th).

Jealous!

If you haven't got a room yet, I'd recommend the Sheraton or Marriot in Chrystal City.  There is a subway station and some decent resturants right there.

Thanks.  I stayed at that Marriot for a conference a few years back.

Finally got myself registered for the Salt Lake City Half Marathon on April 17.  Love that race.  I can't wait to see if my time improves from last year due to my increased fitness on the bike and all the running I've been doing.  Sure hope so.

Have a great training day McFuzzies!!!

Sometimes I think the second race is almost better than the first. Can I improve? COOL. Good luck!

In a few more days, I CAN RUN! Need to go slow, heat compress BEFORE and massage and roll on tennis ball. Then start SLOW SLOW SLOW. Thanks doc! He also suggested I run at the end of the day instead of first thing...maybe my foot would be less tight then. My right foot is incredibly tight compared to the left. Weird. Anyway, I CAN RUN!!

That's great!  Lots of people are registering for races.  I just signed up for a half mary on March 27, the River City Half in Sacramento.  1st time running that... should be fun.

It's exciting to hear about everyone's upcoming races!  I have a 15K scheduled for March 13.  The course is supposed to be pretty tough. One flat mile, then four miles up and four miles down.  My plan is to make it more of a training run since I don't want to miss any workouts for recovery.

Great job to our new non-smokers!

Yay for being able to run Steph, that's great!

Looks like everyone is getting all signed up for their races this year.  I signed up for my Oly already in June but I'm thinking I'll do a warm up in May and sign up for a sprint.  I'm thinking of doing the same one I did last year to see my improvements.

Husband got home today!!!! So happy but he has been up for over 30hrs. so he's conked out.  So glad he's home safe and sound (and so are the kids

Congrats to those who've accomplished so much this month/year!

February for me was another build month for IM training. Successes were getting some 3hr and a 4hr ride in.  Also kept pretty consistant with my running. Had a couple days in the middle of the month where I just felt like crap (mostly mental) and I didn't get in a couple of my workouts.  Even pondering the idea of withdrawing from the IM. But I pushed throuh and hopefully I can con't to get stronger, fitter, and faster! Come on spring!!

Seeing everyone's race plans has got me "this" close to signing up for a HIM.  Last season was my first in triathlon and I only did sprints, so the thought of a HIM, while exciting, is a bit daunting.  I'm not too concerned about the swim or run, but the bike and/or the run off the bike is worrisome.

I did manage to get out on my new bike this am for a short ride before swim practice.  I can't believe the difference b/w the new ride and my 20 yr old former bike!  I know it's the engine and not the machine, but man it's nice to have upgraded machineLaughing

Happy weekend all.

Ann-Marie

In my personal experience training for an IM and going through it with friends, what you experienced is very common, normal.  I went through stages of feeling like "crap" both physically and mentally.  Having thoughts like, why did I think I could do this?  what was I thinking?,  etc.  When you push through it that it does make you stronger and prepares you mentally for the actual race when you will experience every emotion to the extreme.  You hit your highest highs and lowest lows during the course of the race.  When you are low you can recall that training ride or run that you just didn't want to do, it was killing you, didn't think you'd get through it but you did!

Keep up the good work!  Spring will be here....eventually. (as I look out the window at the snow coming down).

Hello McFuzzies! Hope everyone has had a great weekend. I'm a little out of sorts...weekend eating was terrible both on the road and at the tournament. Total sugar hangover today after a seven hour drive last night in crappy weather. My body feels terrible. Someone tell me to just move on & get back to healthy nutrition and it'll be ok!Heading out to swim in an hour or so...that is if I can squeeze my sugar & salt bloated butt into my wetsuit! :-)

Drink some water, have a nice swim and sweat those toxins out.  I feel much better after sweating through a run this morning to get rid of my two days of excesses.

You will be fine.  Sometimes we need to feel like crap to remind us of how much better what we are doing makes us feel.
