![]() | ![]() blueyedbikergirl - 2012-10-12 10:41 AM I had a used VW Golf for a couple of years, and while it was perfect for me and what I needed a car for... I don't know that I'd buy one again. Though really, as long as we live in a city like Chicago, and where we live - I don't think we even need a car. A motorcycle is a necessity though. Ive started missing my motorcycles quite a bit. I believe I'll be picking one up again after I get the medical bills/where I want to live/new job thing figured out. |

Sadly, my SIL's mom should be going into palliative care, but her son has convinced her that she will make a full recovery and that she'll be heading home so she has flat out refused to go to either hospice or palliative care. Chemo for her brain tumors didn't work, so now (against doc's advice) the son has said to do radiation. It's not good at home. For Tony and I... Financially I don't know how we're going to get through the next couple of months. It's all a really, really big clusterf**k right now. You will. I promise. It all always works out. {{TANGEMELONS CUDDLES}} Thanks Yantilicious - as soon as the money fairy drops about $5k on us, it will all work out! |

Two of the Geezerettes drive VWs, a Beetle and a Jetta. Both were purchased as their first cars and are 13 and 11 years old respectively. I would say that both have been good cars. Both had a problem with the radio discharging the battery if not driven regularly when the girls were in college. They both had problems with the electric window lifts. Both had problems with the sunroof drains plugging and getting water in the car. Average or a little better on maintenance, really. One huge difference has been the quality of VW service in California versus Tennessee. Tennesse or at least the Knoxville dealer is way better. Both cars have spent signficant time in California and I haven't found a good, honest mechanic yet. TW |
