Veteran 369 Fairbanks | Subject: RE: June Bugs I really want to do it because it sounds like fun, but to be honest I've ridden a bike once in approximately the last two years. I have NO idea how I'd calculate a reasonable goal without making it stupidly easy. Plus I'm a little concerned about how sore it might make me. I'm still dealing with running soreness and don't want to push it too far. But who wouldn't want to compete in their own personal Tour de France?!! *biking toppage in a running thread.... I did this last year but didn't see that this year's challenge had been posted. Yes, I'll be participating. |

I'm doing it again this year. Making a goal is challenging, especially the number of stages. Better to estimate under - you can always increase your goal |

You gotta bike if you're going to be a triathlete so why not start now? Figure something like twice a week, maybe 10 miles per ride to start? OK, your assignment: you're going to do 7 rides and 100 miles! OK? Edited by MDHillSlug 2009-06-24 12:57 PM |

Pro 4482 NJ | Subject: RE: June Bugs I signed up for the Tour. Am in Paris this week, so how could I not? Going to be interesting though as I'm traveling a lot of July. Will have to count on the weekends as I've never been very good at getting any biking in while out of town. I had a lovely dinner at a sidewalk cafe tonight. French bread, French cheese, French wine. Boy they do all three of those superbly well. Makes up for my aching feet and back. Spent all day standing and wearing a lead apron, and am totally whipped. No run tonight. Maybe in the morning, before another day on my feet. Thank god for orthotics. |

I will have a weany goal, but the point is to set something as a target and go for it. You can always increase the goal if you made it "stupidly easy." Don't worry about the soreness. If you've only biked once in the last two years, you will be sore in places that will be irrelevant to running. |

Expert 908 Niskayuna, New York | Subject: RE: June Bugs So I had an interesting bike ride earlier today.. My legs were tired so it was supposed to be a short, easy ride.. until I got lost. I ended up on hilly roads and to make matters worse, I had a doctor's appointment so I had to push the pace a little. My legs were not thrilled, but I found my way back, only a little late for the appointment |
