(It's a wee bit awkward in here). Maybe *now* people will want my group hug. I'm always up for a midday melon press. Btw, you all forgot - Having a graph where you can't read the axis labels, or the labels are missing - Continuously mispronouncing and/or misspelling a word throughout the pres. -Also, going over the time allotment Thanks! They are on the list. We have some other funny ones you might appreciate -long explanation of standard technique -adviser jumps in to answer question -adviser doesn't show up Have I ever told you about the PI on my project? I was once giving a presentation and he went to the whiteboard. I kid you not. You see, he is under the mistaken impression that he must know every detail about every subject and that if he does not - all other activities must be stopped until he can be brought up to speed. wouldn't that just make my day. |

Ugh...I had someone like that on my master's committee. We got in this really long discussion about the statistical method I was implementing in code during one of my committee meetings. I didn't develop it and it's fairly standard, but I explained it over and over for about 30 minutes and he still kept asking "why I did it like that". Drove me crazy. |

An engineer I manage insists on giving me excruciating detail about his projects when I ask for a "quick status check". I really don't need to know all the nuts and bolts, just give me the big picture and let me know if you are meeting your dates. Jeez. |
